Alarms blared across the Jedi Temple, devices which perhaps had not been used in centuries.

Obi-Wan Kenobi was in the library reading upon Jedi Lore regarding the future when he stood up from the table after hearing the initial sound.

Jocasta Nu acknowledged Obi-Wan's circumspect stare. She knew she had to hide the Padawans underground but she also had to make sure that she and all of the younglings were well-equipped for any intruders. Mace Windu appeared in the room as soon as Nu had exited it. He informed Obi-Wan that Coruscant had been illegally entered by General Grievous and a massive Separatist fleet.

Outside the library, the Jedi met up with a squad of clones who were armed to the full.

All three of them (the third being the Commander) walked alongside each other with the clones right behind them, and were discussing strategies while people ran helter-skelter around them.

"I am pleased to inform you that the Chancellor is safe." Mace told Obi-Wan. "And that no attempt has been made to capture or harm him. Yet."

"Will General Skywalker be joining us, Sir?" The Commander directed his question to Obi-Wan as soon as all of them had stepped outside of the Temple.

Obi-Wan stopped in his tracks. He had just remembered that he had left his wristpad in his quarters and he was one of the few people who knew where his former Padawan was located.

Trunks tried to break through his blue-tinted and almost transparent cage but it was to no result.

He heard a noise come from above him. And he was not surprised when a mysterious blue alien dressed in cowboy attire dropped down from the one vent in the ceiling.

"I guess the price was right." Trunks sneered at his latest visitor.

Cad Bane returned the smile and with a bonus: two LL-30 blaster pistols pointed at the defenseless fighter.

"The price was right." Cad grimaced. "And this job has proven to be just too easy."

He didn't expect so much money for such a simple task. He fired both pistols at the same time. What he did not also anticipate was Trunks using the Force with only his mind to direct the trajectory to the pad on the wall to the bottom right of the bounty hunter.

Within a split second, Trunks was free. He rubbed his wrists and cracked his knuckles. A devilish grin encompassed his face.

Cad had his pistols raised towards the ceiling planning what to do next when Trunks raised a hand. Cad's whole body was pushed towards the wall behind him— and unlike the countless other times that Force had been used on him, he couldn't move a muscle. If it weren't for that wall it would have seemed like he was suspended in mid-air.

The guns in his grasp were quite possibly fatally useless.

Obi-Wan found his wristpad on the one desk in his minimalist quarters. He put it on and was just about to call his closest ally when he heard some commotion in a place near to where the prisoner was being held. On a second listen, he was certain that the noise was coming from Trunk's prison.

***

"You're mighty strong for a Jedi." Cad said with his body frozen akin to being stored in carbonite.

Trunks was about to correct him when he made out someone's footsteps fast approaching them. He closed his eyes and reached out with his free hand. Just as the automatic door whooshed open to let Obi-Wan inside with his ignited lightsaber raised, there was a loud crack on the wall to the left of Bane's head, and a lightsaber hilt was pulled towards Trunks' hand. He opened his eyes to face the Jedi General and simultaneously ignited his purple blade.

"Let the bounty hunter go." Obi-Wan warned taking up his signature stance. "This fight is between us."

Trunks acknowledged Obi-Wan's order with a flick of the hand which led to the Duros making a hole in the wall on Trunks' side.

Obi-Wan launched himself into what would have been be his first duel with his son but was cut short by another item breaking through the wall. This time it was Trunks' escape pod-sized ship which almost crashed into Obi-Wan if he hadn't relented at the last second. He was blind for a few seconds due to the aftermath of the wall breaking apart. White smoke and debris blocked his view for some moments before he got to his feet. But the pause was enough for Trunks to enter his vessel and the vehicle ascended away from the Jedi General, and the next thing Obi-Wan saw was it vacating the planet's atmosphere.

What he also noticed was a dot of light which had shined right after the ship had gotten off the ground.

The next predicament Cad Bane found himself in was having a lightsaber pointed at his throat.

"I think you value your life more than your money, Cad Bane." Obi-Wan smiled.

The bounty hunter grunted then hesitantly handed Obi-Wan the transponder of the tracking device he had shot into Trunks' ship.
