Contract

Warna's POV: 

"My father might've compiled a basic background check on you and put your application on this file *file flopped on table* but I guess he doesn't want me to see the bad side of you people. That too bad though, since I have been doing that and did my own research. Since your my first interviewee I'll give you some leeway. I checked through the other candidates and they all seem to be under or overqualified. For me to be married at 20 and to a 53-year-old? or with a 28-year-old who's a gold digger, I don't mind the labor but gold? You a 21-year-old with a past overdose, a recent death, with parents in debt, and adopted to be the hotel owner's son? Much more having 3 jobs while majoring in communications. It seems like everyone around you was your brother's friend and now there's no one. To further discuss this, your brother got his 'wife pregnant at 22 and yet again at 23 but it seems like the first one wasn't his and though they were going through a divorce it wasn't made official and now he can't see his own creation. If we went deeper seems like you were involved in a kidnapping and got abused. I don't know about you but I see a lot of red flags here, so tell me why I should go through with this with you?" asked Warna crossing her arms.

"True, there are not that many good things about me. In fact, the way you explained it made it seem like bad luck kept following me and I entered its invitation party. Why should I reject a fun time? To all those events I welcome them, life would be nothing without it so experiences are special. I appreciate every moment. And unlike what you're assuming I don't care about this contract, the only benefit you'd get from it is me being out of your eye range of sight. You're saving me from debt and the decrease in human interaction. All I care about is being able to continue listening to music. You...*examine*Your doing this for a reason too right? " asked Silas. 

That startled me, this man is not like anyone I've met before. This higher class, will this be normal? Being studied and read that's irritating, I should research how to conceal information securely it'll come in handy when they ask about recipes. Being the daughter? *scoff* disown me! You weren't part of my life till now what's the difference. It might be since that father of mine has such high standards and the only son who's now 48 and doesn't look like he's planning or getting married or having another nightlife any time soon. Too potentially continue the family bloodline? I'm only 20 and my father got me at 28 so he might be rushing things but in the case of being another no sex life being married at 20. If what worries me is being studied, the age difference and the intention. Out of all isn't he a great choice? He'll understand what I mean and said he'd stay away from me. I've made my decision. 

"It seems we've both settled on accepting this marriage," said Salis. 

"I'm aware of that, but don't mention it. For the sake of things I'm not bombarding you with a roundabout talk but it's special for the occasion," said Warna. 

Silas POV: 

Here I am getting a sip of wine while listening to music and looking at through the window. And in the corner of my eye, I see Warna coming with a file. I settle the cup and not a moment's waste does she rant about how messed up my life is and demands me to win her favor. 

I stare at her eyes and body posture. She's as defensive as they described her but elegant people hide their purpose. I said what I had to say and left it at that. 

She went into critical thinking mode and all I could think about were how easy I moved on from my brother's death, his wives betrayal, and my parent's hardships. Just how big is my stress management? My endurance must've spiked to the max after that incident long forgotten. Well, this marriage is supposed to last a year and one of its conditional requirements is to produce a fetus. I doubt the great wall of china is long enough to reach Warna's armor. Most people look for love, praise, or kindness but she seeks nothing from me. I can't play hard mode yet so I'll do freestyle. It matters not the consequences since it won't affect her. In any case, getting a baby much less to a bed together is out of the questions. But as they made it a conditional requirement the family will probably create events where it's possible. This is so bothersome, I'll go look for a radio station to recommend songs and play some or something. I just thought about a music store or a cd...record players what else?
