10th: Reminisce

Mark's POV

I went inside my walk in closet to pick what I'll wear for today. Today's my free day and I'm going to visit my parents. I promised my mom to visit them once I have my free time so I'm gonna go back home today. I quickly wore my clothes and went to my house.

I drove through the familiar roads inside my subdivision. Its already been a few months since I went back home. The last time I met my parents, it was for an event and I was really busy with the company to go home.

"Good morning sir." the guard greeted and opened the gate so my car can get through.

"Good morning." I answered and smiled.

I went out my car after I parked and walked through our garden in order to get to the main door. I instantly beamed as I saw all our house helpers and body guards lined up horizontally. They all bowed to me to give respect. "Welcome back young master." they said in unison.

I'm really close to some of our workers here in our house since as I grew up, they were always the ones beside me. They all acted as my father and my mother when my parents were too busy with work.

I greeted them all with a big smile on my face, even hugging some of them. "I missed you young master. Are you taking good care of yourself?" the head of the helpers, Ahn, said with tears of her eyes while gently brushing his hand on my hair.

She was the personnel I was closest to since she was the one tasked to always take good care of me when I was young. "Of course. I miss you." I said and hugged her.

After greeting all our personnels, I went inside our house and saw my parents waiting for me at the living room. My mom instantly came to me and hugged me. "I miss you baby." she said.

"I missed you too mom." I answered. We released from the hug and I came to my dad and hugged him too. "Hi dad." I greeted him.

"Let's go to the dining room now and have lunch. The food might go cold." my mom said and guided us to the dining table.

We sat on our usual places when we eat, with my dad on the center, my mom on his right and I on his left. The food was served as soon as we sat down and my mom placed food on my plate.

"How's the company doing son?" my dad asked while we we're eating. I already know that he knows what's going on with the company but he just wants to hear it from me.

My dad always checks the status of the company through his own secretary. I know he trusts and believes in me but of course, if you've handled a business for almost half of your life, you can't help but worry when you're not handling it anymore.

"Its doing great dad. We recently acquired a deal with those international investors we were prospecting for awhile time now." I answered, reassuring him.

"How about the new mall?" he asked.

"We are finalizing everything as of the moment but for sure, it will open next month." I said. "Speaking of, will you guys be present on the opening and ribbon cutting?" I asked.

"Of course, your mom and I will go." he answered. "Very good son. I know you'll run the company even better than I did." he proudly said.

I smiled at his words. "Thank you dad. I won't let you down." I promised.

My mom suddenly smacked my dad. "Its been a long time since our son went back home and all you talk about with him is business?" my mom scolded. "Eat more baby." she told me and placed more food on my plate.

We continued eating until mom suddenly asked me a question. "How are you baby? Are you eating well?" she asked.

I just nodded even though I know that I haven't been eating well lately because of too much work. "Yes mom." I lied, not wanting them to worry about me.
