Rose held the note in her shaky hands. Today the rose was different. It was still purple but it had beautiful white tips.

Come on, Rose. Just open it! She thought to herself. Wait...no she didn't. She turned around and found Jade inches behind her trying to whisper into her ear.

"What are you doing?" She asked her raven haired friend.

"Nothing. Just open it."

"But what if–"

"Rose!" Jade placed both her hands on her friend's shoulders. "Calm. Down." She took a deep breath and carefully peeled the note open.

Roses are red,
Violets aren't blue.
Sugar is sweet.
But not as sweet as you!

(Follow the trail)

Then she saw the trail of dark purple petals. Why hadn't she seen them before? They led down the hallway and around the corner. After an encouraging look from Jade she followed the trail.

She stopped when she found another note.

Roses are red,
Violets aren't blue.
If you were a flower
I'd pick you.
But no flower in this world
Is as beautiful as you.

The trail continued, leading her to another note.

Roses are red,
Violets aren't blue.
There isn't a star
As bright as you.

And another note.

Roses are red,
Violets aren't blue.
Love never crossed my mind
Until the day I saw you.

And another.

Roses are red,
Violets aren't blue
You are my sunshine
And I love you!

"Turn around."
