My Escape

Chapter 2

We all arrived at Mr.Staley's classroom. We were kind of early. Of course all of my friends are there and they tackle me with hugs. Every single one of my friends are in this class. Not every person in this class are my friend, but all of my friends are in this class. Gabe, Jayden, and Mara.
"Hey!" I say while trying to push them off of me.
"I want you to meet some people.." I say and turn to the boys.
"This is Luke, Calum, Michael, and Ashton." I say while pointing to each as I say their name.
"And these are my fr-"
"Best friends." Gabe interrupts.
"Gabe, Jayden, and Mara." I say while pointing to each as I say their name.
A few hello's and waves were exchanged.
"This is awkward." someone whispers in my ear.
I turn and see that Ashton whispered that.
"Just awkward for the moment" I whisper while quietly giggling.
"Ok, wanna get seats together?" I ask them.
"Yea!" They all say.
"Ok."
We all find seats.
I'm in between Luke and Calum.
"Ok class, let's get to work." Mr.Staley says as he enters the room.
I feel Calum looking at me the enter class but I never glanced at him, only when we took little breaks and I made small talk with Luke and Calum.

I was walking out of the front doors of the school and getting ready to walk home.
"Wait, Kristen!" Someone shouted.
I turn around to see Calum.
"Hey." I say as he catches up to where I'm at.
"Hi, um, could I walk you home?" He asks.
"S-sure." I respond.
"Oh, hello!" I hear that annoying voice behind me.
I turn around to see the cheerleader that sits in front of me in home room.
"Hello." I say politely.
"You finally have your first boyfriend! I don't see how he could like someone like you." "We aren't dating." I say.
"Oh, ok, well that makes more sense, know we know he's not COMPLETELY stupid. He's still stupid because he's near you. I'm surprised that he's not blind from how much damage you do with your looks." she says and turns away, covering her eyes, dramatically.
"Well, he's not stupid at all, have a nice day." I say and turn back around and start walking.
"Oh my gosh, what just happened?" Calum asked.
"Nothing, just the usual." I respond.
"That's not usual, she's so mean!" He says.
"Yeah." I reply.
"Since I knew you were lying earlier about being dripping wet, could you actually tell me the truth now?" He asks.
I sigh. "Fine." I give in.
"I walked into the classroom and she asked me 'Why don't you live on the streets if you look like that?' And then I looked down at my paper and she says 'haha what a geek' then she grabs my paper, crumbles it, throws it across the room and says to me, "Go fetch dog" and then I go to get it but a kid dumps water on me and kicks it farther away. I just give up, then sit back down and you and the rest of the band came in." I explain to him.
"Wow..I don't know what to say..I'm so sorry that people do that to you." he says and hugs me.
I smile weakly.
"It's fine, I'm used to it."
"Would you like to hang out at me and the boy's place today?" He asks.
"I would love to, but I can't I'm so sorry, I can text you tonight though." I respond.
I can't hang out with them because my step-dad comes homes every night drunk with a few men that take advantage of my however they want.
"What're you thinking about?" Calum asks.
"Nothing." I respond quietly.
"Ok." he drops the subject.

Apparently we're neighbors. Great. I hope they can't hear anything that goes on in my house.
I get home and my step-dad already has his men there.
"You're late!" He screams at me.
"I-I'm so sorry." I say to him.
"Ugh, what ever, I'll deal with that later. Jim, your turn first."
I gulp and 'Jim' grabs my arm roughly and drags me to a room.
He starts beating me while I scream.
"Shut the hell up!" He yells.
I try my best to be quiet.
He starts to take off my clothing.
The door opens.
"Jim, your time is up, now it's Johnson's turn." my step-dad says.
Johnson smirks at me as he walks in. He's the worst.

And the hell begins.
