It was late in the evening when Bulma threw herself onto the large sofa in the living room of her house, arms across her face. The young scientist and sole heiress of the Capsule Corporation had had a hard day and just wanted to have her quiet. See no one or even hear anyone. Even the household robots were not supposed to look at her right now. Absolute silence interrupted only by the sounds of passing cars, her breathing, and the beating of her heart. That was good. Peace. No one bothering or annoying her with questions.
However, that restful loneliness was interrupted by a ringing of her telephone. Oh, no. Please, not now. Why not now? It had just been so nice. Couldn't she have five minutes to herself? Annoyed Bulma straightened up, picked up her handbag from the floor, looked for her little silver mobile phone, and lay down on the sofa again. Without looking to see who else was calling her at that time, she pressed a button and took the call.
"Yes, Bulma Briefs here?"
"Hey Bulma, it's Claire." and immediately Burma's mood lightened and she sat up on the sofa.
"Claire. How are you, as usual?"
Claire was a good friend of Bulma's and had always listened to her. She was also the right person to talk to about fashion and hairstyling tips.
"Well, thanks for asking. Tell me, how was your day with Yamcha? You sounded a bit annoyed on the phone."
She immediately asked and Bulma sighed inwardly. That's not all. Why was she always so curious? Because she only had a boyfriend recently? Anyway, Bulma didn't hold it against her, and yet she wished to talk about something else than "him". Yamchu was Bulma's friend. Not long ago. Only since the big tournament a year ago, which was about the fate of the earth, and since then he has tried everything to impress Bulma. With more or less good success.
"Oh, Claire. "It's not that I didn't enjoy that day. ..." she began to tell. More forced than she really wanted to, but her friend wouldn't let up.
"But?"
"Well... " And she kept pushing.
"Yamcha is nice, and he tries hard to make me happy."
Considering that he was almost always short of money.
"Even if he's not always flush and can barely last the month. ..."
and again she paused and thought. Was that good or... rather bad?
"Man Bulma! Don't let it all come out of your nose. It's worse than watching an old woman counting the change. Now you tell me what's going on." Claire now urged her friend more.
Otherwise, Bulma wouldn't be in her mouth when something was bothering her. So it was serious? She waited a moment before she sighed and said something.
