Chapter 3: Rave

Author's Note!

Hi guys! First of all, I hope that you're doing okay specifically because of our current situation today, we are now facing a crisis due to the pandemic COVID-19. I hope that we should all comply with the safety protocols and regulations implemented by the government. The pandemic may seem overwhelming but the fact is everyone can help to slow its spread or eradicate this disease by doing our part as a citizen in our country. Helping others even just in a simple way without compromising our safety, abiding the laws and regulations implemented by the authorities, using our voice to uplift the people around us, to ask accountability and transparency from the government, morally fight our rights as a good citizen with good intentions and cause, and of course to pray - we should all strengthen our relationship with God because it will help to build our spiritual being stronger. We need His presence and guidance to overcome this life-threatening situation. Also, we should pray to the frontliners who are risking their lives for us. Pray that those who have the virus will be healed and that its spread would slow and be soon eradicated. Pray that the government agencies would have wisdom and skill to contain the epidemic and that doctors and nurses would be energized for their work. Pray for scientists and biomedical engineers scrambling to invent a way to cure and immunize against this virus. Today, the very least thing that we can do is pray. A prayer with genuine faith will vanquish these decisive moments in our lives. As fear grips our country, let us choose love. During this time when we may not be able to physically wrap our arms around each other, let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors.

I close my eyes not to see the darkness- my own personal escape from the world of darkness. I close my eyes but I saw only the darkness. I opened my eyes but still, the black mark invades my mouth and crawled into my lungs.

Thoughts are relinquished in my mind, the black mark is fading. The light slowly washes the darkness from my being, A sigh of relief as the sunlight touches my soul.

I love the sunlight.

Rave's POV

It's been a week after Lex told me everything about his whereabouts. I was so surprised about those revelations that I don't even think that in the actual world exist. There's one thing that really bothers me, I don't actually exactly know but something bothers me about him. He sure has undeniable great features, his cute & innocent face, his natural pink-colored hair, lips that are so soft, and his skin as fair as pearls but something about him is different, yeah he is completely different since he is not a human but this strange feeling from him hit me like I am surrounded with ghosts. I just can't take my inner peace whenever he is around. He really is a strange person. Despite these strange feelings of mine, since the day I have been acquainted with him, he seems to be a good person. Well, he offers to do the household chores even though my parents are against it. He is a hardworking person, polite, and he acts like a mature person in his age.

BTW I still haven't introduced myself to you guys. I am Rave Solis, 13 years old same as Lex, and I am currently studying in my 6th grade. My parents are both government workers. We are living in a rural area here in Bataan. We don't have that fancy way of living but we are happy together and contented of what we have. For me, I am fortunate and blessed because I have my loving and supportive parents, giving their best to give me a wonderful life. I am so grateful in the thought that some children are more unfortunate and worse in a dire situation just like Rave who lost both of his parents and he doesn't have any relatives to be with. I feel so sympathetic towards him.

He often tells about Dinas Majica, the world that he lives in. He told me that Magi has two races, the Magicians and the Artisans. Magicians are Magis who have magical abilities in the form of any elements of nature while Artisans use instruments releasing from their spiritual core a power depending on their specialty, they also can transport their selves in a particular place that they have been to which is a special ability of their race that only artisans can do. Both races have distinct identities. Artisans are naturally talented while Magicians have kis which is an advantage in combat. Though, both races have a strong relationship they are restricted to be in a romantic relationship together due to some reasons that Lex doesn't know about.

I woke up late this morning because of Lex. It is not what you are thinking guys. Lex is staying in my room and it annoys me because he is so clingy. I even wake up this morning that Lex is hugging me tightly. I am having a hard time sleeping because my bed is too small for the two of us. I suggested that I'll be sleeping on the sofa since both of my parents wanted that Lex should sleep in my room but Lex insisted that he should be the one sleeping on the sofa. We actually argued but in the end, we are now both sharing my room. The behavior of Lex makes me uncomfortable though we are both guys. Wait, is Lex really a guy? I would be so dumb if I don't notice the way he acts and his personality traits. Well, I am not against homosexuality. I am so okay with them. In the case of Lex, I would gladly accept him for who he is but the way he treats me makes me uncomfortable. He is just too clingy. Gosh! It makes me stressed.

Today is Monday so that means we have classes today. I am now preparing my things in school. I have to hurry, I am almost 30 minutes late. Mom and Dad already left to their works. They always go to work so early because they are afraid that their salary will be compensated. I tried to understand them besides they are working for us to have a sustainable life. I was about to go out from the house when Lex called me.

"Rave! wait! wait! wait!" Lex said while panting his breath. He is wearing an apron holding a lunch box. I turned myself to face him. I don't know but he's so hot wearing an apron. It feels like the time have slowed down when I saw his sweaty face yet adorable. I was just left standing looking at him.

"Here Rave your lunch box. I made it for you." Lex said while trying to give a cute look at me. He even lifted a lock of his hair, tucked it behind his ear, and gave me a wink. It looks like Lex is trying to seduce me. I was still standing staring at Lex and I think my cheeks are blushing so I turned back myself from him.

Lex was trying himself not to laugh at him. It seems that seducing him was successful. HAHAHAHAHA

"Rave! Hello Rave? Rave? What happened to you? You gotta go or else you'll be super duper late." Lex said trying to push me out of the house. I got myself back and was left no choice but to leave the house & go to school.

A few hours later...

The class already ended so I instantly left at school to go home. When I was about to enter our house. It seems that mom and dad already arrived from their works. I heard them talking about something.

"Norman! Kaya nga tayo lumipat kasi gusto nating mamuhay ng normal si Rave kaya hindi na kailangan pang sabihin sa kaniya ang katotohanan. I just want him to live a normal life away from those people!"

"Lanny, malalaman at malalaman din ni Rave ang katotohanan. Hindi natin dapat itago sa kaniya ang katotohanan. Wala tayong karapatan na ipagkait sa kaniya ang mga bagay na sa una't sapol pa lamang ay dapat na niyang malaman."

"Hindi! Hindi natin sasabihin kay Rave! Napakabata pa ni Rave para malaman ang katotohanan."

"Lanny, we can't hide Rave's true identity forever besides time will come that he would..."

"Shut up Norman! This argument is done. We will not tell him!"
