Chapter three

"Maybe..." (Y/n) mumbled, and that caused Poppo to be more excited. 

"Wow! She came back just to get you to grant her wish! That's so cool!" Poppo stated.

"N-not really.." Jintan stuttered. "I'm sure it's just a projection of my own.." he added.

"A projection? Is it a fantasy? That's amazing!" He said in awe. "Is she here right now?" He asked, looking around the hideout for Menma. 

"Not right now.." Jintan said but only got ignored.

"Menma, It's me! Are you here?" He said, still looking around the place for the familiar silhouette.

"I think he is taking this too far.." (Y/n) mumbled and Jintan nodded of what (Y/n) said but remembered to ask the (h/c)-nette. 

"Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be at home?" He asked. Looking at the (h/c)-nette, who is happily watching their friend look around to hunt Menma.

"Oh, after you ran off I chased you but got tired, I was supposed to be going home but I thought why not go here to remember the past? So I went here. But I saw you running from behind, so I followed you." She said still not taking her eyes off Poppo.

Jintan nodded in understandment and looked at Poppo too. Poppo got off the ladder with a sad aura around him.

"It's no use, I can't see her..." He sulked.

(Y/n) felt bad so went to cheer up the boy, she stands up from where she sat and stands next to the boy. She pats his shoulders and got his attention. 

"Don't ya worry! You'll see her someday. Right, Jintan?" (Y/n) asked Jintan.

Jintan nodded and Poppo's mood slightly got better. "As I said earlier, I am the one who can-" before he could even continue, Poppo's awe struck, who always idolized Jintan as a kid. "I knew you were awesome!" He said.

(Y/n) smiled and returned to her sit, next to Jintan.  Jintan smiled at their bubbly friend, Poppo felt the gaze of Jintan and asked him.

"Nothing." He said, looking away. "You have been using this place?" Jintan asked while looking around, remembering some happy childhood memories.

"When I'm in the country." Poppo said.

The two gave Poppo a confused face, Poppo pointed the map behind them and explained about the red encircled places and his dream about exploring around the world.

"What about high school?" Jintan asked followed by (Y/n), nodding on what he said. Poppo brushed off the question as if it wasn't important to him. Next, Poppo told about the adventure he went at the Southeast Asia.

Jintan remembered that Poppo idolized him as a kid until now, he still idolized Jintan. "You were such a midget back then, now look at you now.." Jintan smiled. (Y/n) smiled too, he was her idol too you know. "True, you didn't change one bit!" (Y/n) said.

"Me?" Poppo pointed to himself then starts to look around himself. "I have changed quite a bit, want a jungle cruise?" He asked, lowering his shorts. Sligthly revealing his pinked, flowered design hula shorts.

(Y/n) looked away before she could see something and told him to pull it back up. He did what she said, then remembered they were getting off topic.

"We were talking about Menma's wish, right? What did you promise to her?" He asked.

Jintan crossed his arms, remembering what he promised to their deceased friend. (Y/n) looked at the two in confusion, "I didn't know a dead person can make a wish." (Y/n) stated. 

"Yes, If you haven't finished what you wanted to do, then that's wish." Poppo explained. (Y/n) nodded then looked at Jintan.

"What did she wish though?" (Y/n) asked. 

"I don't remember." He plainly said.

Poppo thought for a moment and smiled, "Doesn't she always wanted the autograph of "DE SU YO!" That you used to have?"

"Would she hunt me just for that?" (Y/n) giggled on what Jintan said. Then smiled, "Doesn't she always wanted Nekòmon Gold, but I don't remember who she wanted to be caught." She said.

The two looked at her as if someone was behind her, "W-what? Did I s-say something wrong?" She stammered. 

Poppo looked away and nodded, "Yeah, she always wanted that but, who is it?" He asked.

They think some more and (Y/n) remembered it, "It was Poitt!" Poppo smiled. "Do you have the game? If you do, can I borrow it?" Jintan asked.

"No... I lost it.. so I'll have to buy a new one." (Y/n) stated.

"I'll buy too, so let's go before they close down." (Y/n) nodded.

"See you again, Poppo," They said as they walked out the old hide out.

[TIMESKIP]

They arrived the game shop and looked around for Nekómon gold. Jintan was looking around the Ninpendo section, "Can I help you with something?" A man in his 30's or something asked The slightly scared boy. 

"Um... erm... well.." He was about to say what but giggled cause of embarrasement.

"Sorry I was late." A familiar voice said. (Y/n) goes to see who it was and it was Anaru. Tying her apron from behind, (Y/n) giggled and waved. "Hey." Jintan greeted.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"We're looking for Nekómon." (Y/n) said. 

"Oh.. come on." She said walking to the counter where other games are at. They followed her then started to search for the game.

"Which version? Opal or emerald?" She asked.

"Gold." Jintan and (y/n) said in unison.

"Gold? Isn't that game old?" She stated.

Jintan slightly turning red from embarrasment, "If you have it, just give it to us." He said.

"I would like one too please, Anaru-chan." (Y/n) smiled.

Anaru sighed then search for two Nekómon gold. She found them and put it in separate plastic bags. "That'll be 9,142 yen." (Y/n) grabbed her wallet then grabbed 4,571 yen and pays her half and Jintan pays his. With him complaining about the price. 

(Y/n) and Jintan thanked her and grabbed their bags but Anaru held them tightly, "(L/n)-san, Yadomi-san." She was hesitating but let go of the bag. 

"It's nothing! Have a nice day." She said then bows.

(Y/n) and Jintan left the shop and went to their homes.

[Jintan's POV]

When I arrived home, dad was cooking dinner in the kitchen. "We're having grilled meat tonight!" Dad said. But I was already going up to my room.

"Sorry, Im not hungry tonight!" I said as I arrived my room and heard a muffled noise from dad. He might have said that, "What are you saying? That's not cute at all!"

I sighed then start to find for my old gameboy. Once I found it, I opened the game then start to boot it up. "Hmm.. So how to go do this? So I'll have to pick these three.." I start to pick my favorite then after I looked ahead.

'She hasn't come home yet..' I thought then start to play the game.
 
'My stress-induced hallucination... should have never existed in the first place. But..' I thought then continue playing until I pass out from sleepiness.

A voice beside me said, "Thank you.. Jintan."
