Tails wearily set the young pup on the sofa, and plopped down in a nearby chair. "Phew! I'm beat!" He said as he wiped a bead of sweat from his shiny yellow fur. The pup looked around at the unfamiliar sight, still taking in the tragedy that had befallen her. Tails noticed this, and sighed heavily, only half annoyed at the thought of raising a pup on his own. "If I'm correct," he began, turning to the pup, "based on the size of your front two teeth, I would say you're about five years old, yes?" The pup nodded, confirming him to be correct. "Did your powers kick in yet?" This time, the pup shook her head. "Can you even speak?" Ashamed, and embarrassed, the little mouse looked to the floor. Tails sighed again, and straightened his posture. "I'm Miles Prower," he introduced, "my friends call me Tails. This here, is my house, and in my house, you will abide by MY rules. Got it?" the pup nodded to show that she understood. "Good." Tails began. "Do you have a name?" He asked after a while. The small pup shook her head. She didn't want to complicate things for the fox who had helped save her, especially since she couldn't speak!
