"i'll buy you a house!"
renjun had already felt like dozing off during him and chenle's call. does it really take that long to tell a friend you want a new job?
renjun then remembered chenle was still on a line, he sat up straight and slapped himself for feeling so sleepy, "no. i'll be fine! trust me!"
"how can you be fine when i know that you're gonna be taking care of some toddlers! what if they attack you, then they plot to murder you—"
"chenle." renjun said seriously. the younger boy was just too worried for him. all he literally has to do is feed and bathe some kids.
what could go wrong?
renjun heard chenle sigh on the other line, "but that means you're staying in korea!"
"you know i don't wanna stay here in china. all my parents are gonna do is just abuse me all over again, and i don't wanna live that life."
"i know you don't. that's why i'm offering you a house far away from them. i'll even bring you sicheng hyung's chicken nuggets!" chenle said happily trying to reassure his friend.
as much as that sounded tempting, renjun just couldn't say yes. he promised himself that if he's gonna live a rich life full of rich things, then it's gonna come from hard work.
"sorry chenle, but no. i promise i'll visit you often!" renjun promised his friend.
and if renjun promises, he never ever breaks it. he just can't risk his whole life living in peace just because he has a rich friend. although he is truly grateful that chenle came into his life.
without him, he probably wouldn't have survived living here on earth.
chenle clicked his tongue, "okay fine. just call me once you get an application all right? again i'm still up with buying you a house—"
"i'm really fine chenle."
chenle hummed in slight sadness, "alright then. bye injun."
renjun smiled softly, "bye lele."
and with that, the call ended between the two chinese boys.
renjun sighed as he plopped down on his small couch in his new apartment in south korea, it wasn't luxurious at all, but for him, it was cozy enough.
he had just uploaded an application for babysitting because, why not?
just kidding.
the chinese honestly had multiple choices such as an artist which he was good at painting, a part time shift in a convenience store, or anything!
but a babysitter? renjun had always felt like he had a connection with kids. even the whiniest baby could like him.
plus, he's used to household chores, he can definitely handle cooking, cleaning, and taking care of kids at the same time.
"should i go out for a walk? it's my first day in seoul anyways." renjun said to himself.
it took him a few more moments before getting up and putting his backpack on and leaving.
the first thing he heard as he went out of his house was the bustling sounds of seoul, and he saw the cherry blossoms blooming around the whole city.
he decided to buy some snacks first as he walked around, he bought vanilla ice cream which was his all time favorite.
he walked down a large road that was probably home to the many rich people of seoul, he took a lick of his ice cream his happiness, "new job, new life!"
as he was walking, he spotted a big house on the left and on the top floor window, he saw a little girl looking at his ice cream.
renjun couldn't help but laugh at the little girl who was staring at his ice cream, he waved at the little girl while giving her a small smile.
the little girl huffed her cheeks and pouted that she couldn't be the one to have the ice cream, but nonetheless she also gave renjun a smile that could brighten up anyone's day.
the two then started giving each other small signs to try and make a conversation and surprisingly, the little girl understood.
when the two were having so much fun, renjun saw her little brother drag her away from the window, but the little brother also gave renjun a little wave.
when the two were gone, renjun took another bite of his ice cream, "how cute!" and with that, he began to roam around seoul again after that small encounter with the kids.
after a few more hours, he decided to head back home as it was getting late, he dropped his bag on the couch and ran to the kitchen to cook himself some instant ramen he bought a few days ago.
he put it on a pot and cooked it for a few minutes until it was ready. he grabbed the ramen and a bottle of water.
he sat down on his chair and started slurping the hot spicy ramen that just came from the stove.
he opened his computer to check any messages that he missed, a few from chenle and jisung. but other than that, nothing really.
"nothing yet?" renjun was honestly just desperate for work to do. he didn't care how far it was, as long as it's a suitable pay.
he finished the spicy ramen and drank the whole bottle of water since he knew he couldn't handle such spicy things.
renjun stood up, "should i take a shower?"
he grabbed his pajamas and went inside the bathroom to do his night routine in peace, putting on moisturizer as his last part.
he laid on his bed and started scrolling on instagram, all he saw was just a bunch of scandals that didn't even need to be there.
he threw his phone to the side and closed his eyes tired even though all he did was walk. and that's when renjun heard a ding from his laptop.
opening his eyes, he quickly ran to his computer to check what it was, and it was what he was waiting for.
"a request from na jaemin?"
