25 hours of flight time is unpleasant enough without the weight of quandary. Outside the window, dark cumulonimbus clouds gathered. The plane dropped and Khalid jolted out of his seat. Again.
They say god has a wicked sense of humour. Khalid's flight was full of turbulence as if to reflect his state of mind. He wondered if the plane crashed and he died, would his mother be miserable for a long time or unfazed. He never knew if she loved him. She abandoned him when he was a baby and now...
"Your mother is the reason you grew up without a father!" the words rang in his ears like the continuous wailing of an air raid siren. Khalid crouched, covered his ears tight and let out a grunt.
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, this is your pilot speaking. In about 10 minutes, we will commence our descent to Singapore Changi Airport..." the announcement disrupted his ire.
I cannot let my anger get the better of me. I have to compose myself so I can get to the bottom of it.
He took a sip of water, closed his eyes and breathed in and out.
