"Syirah, look! Khalid's over there!" Rosnani voiced out with glee. She pointed Syirah to where Khalid was collecting his luggage.

Rosnani wears her heart on her sleeve but Syirah smiled with her eyes. There he was, the boy who presented them both with the gift of motherhood. He has grown into a charming young man, but to Syirah and Rosnani, Khalid will always be their boy.

Khalid got his luggage and turned towards the exit. He caught a glimpse of Rosnani and Syirah and for a second, a sense of repulse engulfed him. Snapping out of it, he relaxed his curled up lip and flashed a forced smile walking towards them.

"Mama Ros, Ibu Syirah," Khalid bent, took their right palm in his and kissed their hands in turn.

"Come here," Syirah pulled Khalid in to hug him. Khalid felt an instant warm rush through his body. The power of a mother's embrace made him forget for a moment that he harboured resentment towards her.

"I'm tired. Let's go. I want to see nenek." Khalid muttered.

"Alright Khalid, go ahead with Mama Ros. I have to get back to the office. I will catch up with you later."
