"Hey Khalid, check your email. I've sent you the case file on your father. Please make sure no one knows that I helped you with this. My father would kill me if he found out I broke privilege at KSUH."

"Trust me, Maxine. I would never do anything to cause you harm. I owe you a big one."

As soon as the call ended, Khalid sat on his laptop and pored through the documents. Most of what Zaryn told him checks out. The more Khalid read the case documents, the deeper the grave of hatred for his mother went. Syirah is cold-hearted. She deprived Khalid of his father's love. She knew how much he yearned for a father-figure. How when growing up, he used to compare himself to Nikky and Maxine whose fathers doted on them. Rosnani is no different. They were both self-serving.

He picked up his phone and called Zaryn.

"Bapak, I'm ready for what we discussed. Meet me at the same place today after lunch at 2 pm."

"I am proud of you Khalid. I knew you'd come to your senses. You are my son after all. Now pay attention and listen, I've got a plan." The father and son duo got down to the nitty-gritty of their scheme.

"Dad, look over there. That's Khalid meeting with someone. I'm going over to say hi." Nikky recognized Khalid from a distance.

Kenneth grabbed Nikky's shoulders to stop him from moving forward. "That's his father, Zaryn. They seem to be deep in conversation, we shouldn't disturb."

"His father? The Hassans said Khalid's father is dead!"

"He was in prison. They didn't want Khalid to know."

Nikky's eyes widened at the revelation.

"Hey Maxine, I saw Khalid meeting with a strange man while I was walking with my dad and guess what? Dad said that man is his father!"

"Yeah, I know his father is alive. He told me about it. Imagine living your life thinking that your father is dead only to find out 25 years later that he's around. It must be tough on Khalid."

"To be honest, that man gave me the creeps. There's something off about his mannerisms."

"Stop it Nikky, don't be condescending. He paid for his crimes. He deserves a new lease of life and he has every right to reconnect with his son."

"Sorry Maxine, I didn't mean it that way. I'm worried about Khalid. His father may not be a good influence based on what dad told me."

"I have to get back to work Nikky. Talk later. Bye."
