Toren's POV
Sitting at Tangerine, waiting for the sound of overly priced heels, I lean forward on the small circular table by the window, resting my elbows and raking my hands through my overgrown hair. I can't remember the last time I felt this off. I'm all messed up. Scarlett won't answer any of my calls or messages and it's breaking me each time I hear her sweet voice on her voicemail. I miss the shit outta that girl.
As if the Lord heard my prayers, I hear my guardian angel come clip clopping into the restaraunt. Looking up, he spots me, talking briefly to the hostess then heads in my direction.
"Hey-" I begin, starting to stand.
"Don't even start. We ain't friends." he clips with attitude, holding up a hand and pursing his lips before placing his huge, oversized purse on the tiny circular table.
Looking around the purse to try and see him, I shoot him a frown.
"Ok, yes, I should probably put this in a seat." he says, placing it in the chair next to him.
"Thanks for meeting me." I say solumnly.
"I'd get my peen peen cut off if she knew I was here, you know that, right?" he says with a straight face, causing me to almost spit out my water at his verbiage.
"I know, I know, trust me. I get it, and I'm beyond grateful you still agreed to meet me." I say in all seriousness, running my hands anxiously through my hair.
"Well, to be honest, I was curious myself. Things aren't quite adding up." he cocks his head to the side, grabbing for some papers from his purse.
"What's not adding up." I question him, looking down to the table at his stack of papers.
"Ok, first of all. You said that the timeline seemed to match up? You fucked her around the same time she was conceived according to the doctor, am I right?" he asks.
"Yes."
"And you had your own doctor verify?"
"What do you mean?" I sit back in the chair, looking at him, while rubbing my jaw.
"You trust that her doctor is telling you the truth? Didn't you request a second opinion?"
"Ugh...I-" I stutter out.
"Jesus child, can you honestly tell me you've never seen an episode of Maury?!" he snaps out in disbelief.
The waiter comes to our table, silently smirking, obviously hearing part of our conversation, as I desperately want a bag to throw over my head to end things once and for all. She takes our orders as Adrien orders an appetizer to pick at.
"Ok, ok, clearly you're new to this whole baby daddy shit..." he rolls his eyes.
"Clearly!" I yell out, throwing my hands into the air in total frustration over my predicament.
"Calm down homeboy, before you pop a hemorrhoid." he says glaring at my outburst.
I sigh out, putting my face in my hands, then raking them through my hair again, then sit up, staring at him, hoping he's truly here to help, not hinder, me.
"Alright, so I've been doing a little research. Apparently Camila has an on again off again boyfriend named Ray." he starts, looking through his printouts.
"Yeah, but she said the reason it couldn't be him was because he's locked up, he's in jail for...domestic disturbance or something like that."
"Well, here's where it gets weird...you remember Ryder?" he asks with raised brows.
