A Modernized Witch

Chapter 1

The mobile spun as i tried to gather my thoughts on what just happened. Just a few hours ago I was laying in a puddle of my own blood, now i'm in a crib with this tiny body in a strange world. The lights are brighter then any torch I've seen, the room is painted bright pink, and I keep hearing this beeping coming from outside. 

Everything is so bright, everything is so noisy what is happening?!

A lady walked into my room, she's wear such strange clothes. But she's smiling well looking at me, i'm guessing shes cares for me? I try to say something to her but it comes out in a couple goos and gaas. She picks me up, i could hear Her heart beating fast. someone entered behind her, they were also smiling.

"Honey look at her, she's beautiful!" the women exclaimed, shes started to hold me closer as she almost broke out in tears. The man hugged us both.

"She's just as beautiful as you, i'm glad she got all of your good looks!" He said with a wide grin. Wait how can you tell i'm pretty if i'm an infant, this is why i never had children! well only one of the many, many reason why I didn't have kids. I had a very serious look on my face, which made them laugh and pinch my cheeks. I tried to ask them to stop, but it came out in a whole bunch of unintelligible noises.

Finally I was put down, I wonder why? the women was hanging over me spinning the mobile, her smile was almost infectious i couldn't help but smile back. Then the man came over with this strange metal box in his hands, it reflected back at us almost like a hand-held mirror.

I could finally see what I looked like! My hair was white and so short that I could barley see it, and my eyes were an icy blue. In conclusion my appearance barley changed, well besides the fact that i'm a baby now. A click comes from the box then a flash of light blinds me, What type of cruel magic is this! I can't get my revenge blind and helpless! 

"Oops, I forgot to turn of flash!" I hear the man say, well holding back a laugh.

"Honey, don't blind our daughter!" I start to regain my vision and see the woman, who i presume is my mother, pinching the man, that I believe is my fathers cheek.

"She looks tired" said my father, as he pulls back from my mothers pinching.

"Yeah she probably is, i'll read her a bedtime story you can start dinner" She said motioning for him to leave. She walked over to a book shelf and takes a thin brightly coloured book, she then sits down next to my crib and starts reading. 

"Long ago, a king and queen had a baby daughter named Rapunzel. What her parents didn't know was that Rapunzel's golden hair contained magical healing powers. A selfish old witch knew of the magic in Rapunzel's hair and wanted it to keep for herself. As Rapunzel grew older, she started wanting to explore the outside world." My mom paused to take a breath.

"She longed to leave the tower to explore, but the witch refused. Meanwhile, a young prince from an neighbouring kingdom set out on a mission to find the princess! The prince had reached this secluded tower in woods and heard this beautiful singing coming from inside. Hes scaled the tower to find out where this singing was coming from, when he reached the top what he found was the long lost princess! He then slayed the witch and brought the princess home! where they lived happily ever after. The end" My mother then reached into to the crib and kissed my forehead. 

"Good night Alannah," She said in a soft tone, then left the room. Okay so now she wants me to go to sleep? But... that's not what happened. First off her name wasn't Rapunzel, it was Raven Litzel. Second she was orphaned and living with her great aunt, I mean sure she wasn't all there but she never kidnapped her! Last off there was no prince, he was witch hunter!  And not only....

As time goes by

So I've lived a total of two years of my new life and a lot of thing are different from when i grew up the first time. first off theirs these things call microwaves and they heat up your food with a touch of a button, I've never seen magic like it before! then there is also this place called a public library, its filled with books that anyone can read! my mother said she'd take me there today so i woke up excited, I really wanted to learn more about this new world.

My mother came into my room and dressed me in a cute pink dress, she brushed out my hair then tied a bow to keep it up

"We should really cut your hair, its growing really fast" She said, well smiling at me.

"No, no cutting my hair!" even in this new life i'm still pretty adamant about not cutting my hair. She always seems disappointed when i say she can't cut my hair. But that's because its so hard to brush out. 

She then picked me up and brought me out of my room, then put me down in this really tall chair. She tell me this is where i'm supposed to eat, also to not throw my food. I mean why would i throw my food? that'd just make more work for her and shes already stressed since shes having another kid. 

"Here you go Alannah, make sure to eat fast so we can get to the library early. But not to fast i don't want you to choke" She said well putting down my food, then patting me on the head. Agh warm milk again it always burns my tough, curse you microwave! okay then i'll use a little magic of my own, mother just needs to turn around, i said turn around.. okay good now! i'll just draw a quick rune to cool it down, say a few words and bam! Ice cold milk, just the way its supposed to be! Once i'm done this its on my way to the library!
