Chapter 11 : The painting

Maya's pov

**in my room**

I was sitting in my room reading a novel, cool wind was flowing inside through window, and suddenly, the painting which was hanged on the opposite side of wall caught my attention, it was weird painting (and scary at the same time), portraying a girl with blue paints, she was wearing a scarf. Her eyes were hypnotic which was forcing me to look at them Without blinking.

I don't know why this painting is attracting me.
Everyone is asleep now.
I took my painkillers and decided to go to the attic, i reached the door lock was broken as i did it while saving Kathy, so I entered there with a torch in my hand for some light to see, there was a smell of dried blood, some skulls and bones were over there, and many more things may be of who use to stay here earlier.
I think, no one has entered here for a long time.
I was about to go further, there was a little girl behind a chair 🪑 in the corner, she started scratching the wall with extreme energy , I can hear the sound of scratching, holding my breath, I moved further to the girl to know who is she and what she is doing here, soon I realized she was the same girl I have seen in my room crawling on the ceiling.
"Wh....who....who are you?", I asked gulping my saliva in my throat. She continued scratching. ''what are you doing in house?'', I asked, she slowly tilted her head 180 degree towards me, I frozed in horror, '' leave this house, otherwise, she will kill you without mercy.....''she whispered and disappeared soon. I spotted a small black cloth bag there, I took it and left the attic.

I was about to open the bag in my room, someone pushed causing bag fell down and as soon as the bag fell down, it was taken by invisible hands outside the window, I got really scared and I was compelled to know what's wrong here, and I will surely find out everything, I decided to ask Jessica about it, as she has been living here from her childhood. I laid on my bed thinking about all night. My eyes opened its 7am and today is Saturday, which means no office, I quickly got up and freshen up myself and joined Kathy and Jessica for breakfast soon after we had our breakfast I told Kathy what happened in the attic, she was disappointed by me for going to attic alone and agreed to ask about all this to Jessica. So we are going for a drive along Jessica and we also invited Aman and Aarav, as they know this place well and will help us to find some good place to hang out.

**We drove to a beautiful point next to the forest, its beautiful.....we had fun there, Aman and Aarav were discussing about something in general**

"We want to know something about the house we live in, we think you can tell us about as you are staying here since long time", I asked Jessica. Kathy nodded in acceptance. Jessica was little worried when we asked this.

"I know something, I was also thinking to tell you both, but decided not to because you may get scared listening.....", she replied in fear.
