*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP*
The alarm made me jolt up out of bed. I looked up the alarm clock and it read 7:01. Ugh! I should get up but I don’t want to so I cuddled up with my teddy bear. But that’s when my mum decided to come barging in my room.
“C’mon Rose get up, first day at your new school, don’t want to be late” She said very very loudly pulling my curtains open trying to blind me.
“Jeez mum! Are you trying to blind me?!” I yelled sleepily pulling the cover over my head. The next minute the blanket was pulled off of me I groaned very loudly. Mum then jumped on me and started tickling me to death.
“Ahhhhh! Ok mum I can’t breathe get off of me! I’m awake I’m awake!” I screamed trying to push her off. She eventually climbed off of me and stood up straight.
“Good, now there is breakfast waiting in the kitchen, oh by the way I think you need a shower, you smell” She said holding her nose and walking out.
“Well thanks mum” I mumbled crawling out of bed towards the shower. I had a look at myself and oh my goodness I look like crap…and that’s putting it lightly, my light blonde hair was sticking up at all angles and I look like a ghost. I stripped and turned on the hot water and the cold water making the shower steamy. When I decided I look old enough I hoped out of the shower and put on my stupid school uniform. Since the school isn’t that far away mum and I decided to walk, look at the new scenery.
“So what do you think of the neighbours?” My mum asked me sidestepping a bush.
I thought very carefully “They’re nice..” I said not knowing what to say, should I tell her about the twinge thingo I experienced with Tarryn? I thought better of it and I might just keep it to myself for now until I figure out what it was.
“Hmm…you know Tarryn goes to the same school?” My mum asked me thinking I already know. I stopped.
“Really?” I asked starting to walk again.
“Yeah she loves baking so why not go to the finest high school they have for baking around” She replied.
“Mother I’m pretty sure it’s just a stupid VET course she’s doing, everyone does that these days. I said stating the obvious, jeez my mum is old.
“These days? Are you implying that I’m old young lady?” She questioned me frowning.
“No of course not, why would I do such a thing? You don’t even look old” I replied innocently hoping she believed me. She studied my face before sighing as we walked through the gates and into the front office, there were already three students here. One guy sitting in a corner looking anxious as hell, one girl looking like they had better places to be and the other was a guy picking his nose then wiping it on his sleeve. Ew! I cringed.
We got told to take a seat but I really didn’t want to sit next to boogie dude so I just stood looking out of the window while my mum flicked through a very old magazine.
“Rose Forster?” Some middle aged skinny tall lady called to me.
“Yes?” I replied quietly.
“Please come this way” She smiled at me while I made my way into her office with my mum right behind me.
“So I hear you have moved schools quite a bit, why is that?” She asked me. After looking at her badge I figured out her name was Miss Clarke. I looked at mum.
“Uh we’ve been going through some family issues so we’re just trying to find the perfect place to settle down” I mum spoke for me.
Miss Clarke looked at me for a few moments before she grabbed a piece of paper, a diary and handed both to me “Here is your timetable and diary, you’ll see that there’s a map on the inside of the diary if you ever get lost oh and please use the diary like a bible, you’ll need it with you in class at all times, was there any questions?” She explained to me.
“I think I’ll be fine” I said and smiled sweetly at her.
“Ok then well I hope you stay at Woodville until you finish school and it was a pleasure meeting you Ms Forster” She said to mum and I.
As soon as mum left I was out on my own. I left the front office and made my way to…N43...my home group. I hope I like my teacher.
