I got back from from school to see my drunk dad passed out on the couch "Not surprised" I mumbled. "WHAT WAS THAT!" My mom yelled from the kitchen before a fork flew passed my face. "NOTHING MOM!" I yelled back before running in my room to put on my headphones and listen to my favorite song. I was listening to (Y/F/S) when my mom burst through the door telling me to clean the house. "Fine!" I answered before taking off my headphones and walking downstairs. I started cleaning the kitchen and washing the dishes and then I start hearing yelling and glass breaking. My parents were fighting "just what I needed" I whispered under my breath. I kept cleaning until I felt a sharp pain in the back of my head and then glass breaking. Right after I heard feet running around until it was next to me. My mom was hovering over me holding a very large knife I screamed for help but nobody heard "HELP ME PLEASE!" I yelled as my mom threatened me " SHUT UP OR I WIL SLIT YOUR THROAT YOU BRAT!" I finally slid out from under her and ran to the wall phone and dialed 911 "Help me please my moms trying to kill me!" I said out of breath "Okay can you tell me the location miss." The operator answered " (random address) please hurry I'm scared!" I said shaking "I'm sorry calm down I know it's hard but we have police on there way what's your name?" They responded " Kayla. Kayla Lee!" "Okay Kayla police are 2 minutes away!" They said as I heard my mom banging on the door "OPEN THE DOOR SLUT!" My mom called as there was a knock at the door. "Kayla they are at the door can you go get it?" "I'll try..." I answered as I checked under the door to see nothing. I opened the door and bolted downstairs to the front door and unlocked and opened it. " Hello (random city) police department." They said "SHES IN THERE!" I yelled and ran out the door. I sat on the sidewalk until I saw three police come out of my house with my mother and father in handcuffs "THIS ISNT THE LAST KAYLA YOU HEAR ME!" My mother yelled as I shivered they put them in the car and drove off while one officer stayed with me and asked questions. "Any family members nearby?" He asked I shook my head no. "Where's the closest?" He questioned " My aunt in Derry, Maine." I gave him her number when we got to the station and he called her. Now I guess I live with my aunt. In Derry, Maine.
Current time!
Derry, Maine 1989 5days till summer
My aunt drove down a bumpy road and woke me up from my horrible dream/flashback as we passed the sign saying "Welcome To Derry" I sighed looking at the sign. I hated the feeling of moving to a new state it scared me thinking about new schools but I punched that out of my head. I started feeling something. Something bad but I couldn't put my finger on it so I ignored it as we pulled into my aunt's driveway. "Well Kaykay were here!" My aunt said in a sweet tone. I always loved visiting her I always felt like she was my mom that actually cared. " coming." I said as I got my backpack filled with my clothes. I already had a room here cause I would visit sometimes and she had a lot of space (House below)

I walked in and went upstairs to my room it was 5:00pm and I had school tomorrow I really don't even get why I have to go if it's the last week but my aunt said I might make friends so I'm going. My aunt called me down for dinner we had pizza because we were tired from the drive. We ate and said goodnight and went to our rooms and I fell asleep.
Next morning!
I woke up from my alarm blaring in my ear I groaned and turned it off and rolled over it was 6:30 2hours before school I got up and got dressed into (outfit below!)

I put on mascara and slight blush and was ready to go eat breakfast. My aunt made pancakes " Thanks Aunt Bells!" I smiled "My pleasure Kayla! Now eat up so we can get going!" She said to me I nodded and ate. After I finished eating I got in my aunts car and we drove to school I was nervous and my aunt could tell " Kayla it's nothing to worry about sweetie. I grew up here I'm 38 now!" She giggled " Thanks Aunt Bells." "Here we are!" My aunt said as we pulled up to the school. " Bye." I said as I opened the car door and walked out into my new school.
