She was with her friend, Jin. He was handsome young man. Infact that boy used to go by 'world wide handsome' as his signature remark. Also Y/n couldn't help but agree with his remark everytime.
She had met him while working in a cafe and Jin was her fellow co-worker. As the time passed Jin and y/n had become good friends. But do you think there won't be any suspicion when you met a person for the first time?
And the same thing happened with her. She would be quite suspicious about him at times as he wouldn't tell her about his hobbies or where did he live, whenever she did, she would only get one response that was silence. And she wouldn't bother to ask again
Back in the time of closing the cafe, Jin invited her over to his house which was situated in the middle of the woods
"Why do you live in the woods? Don't you know about the things people say?"
"About the things that roams around the Forest. Oh come on y/n! They are just stories. Don't believe them. I'm living here since I was a toddler"
Jin was walking ahead as he entered the woods. But y/n didn't. She was hesitating to do So. She had the gut feeling that she shouldn't go.
Jin turned around to see her rooted to the ground. He sighed and went back to where she was standing
"Y/n. What does the people say? Tell me."
"Jin. It's just that"
"Y/n tell me"
"Ok. People say that as the sun goes down and the night comes up, you'll see some creatures or you can say in the form of humans, roaming around, deep inside the Forest. White light surrounding there figures. No one has ever come back alive who have seen those mystical being."
"And you're scared of that story?"
Y/n nodded
"Listen y/n. There's nothing like that. Don't you believe me? These are very old things. This is 21st century and you think these things are believable in this Hi-Tech generation?"
She thought about it what Jin said. He was right. Who would believe in that stories now?
She gave him a smile. She was ready to go. Jin smiled nodding at her.
"Let's go"
And with that they both went inside the woods. And one them didn't expected what was coming
They kept on walking, walking deep inside the woods. The sun was still above the horizon, not much time left to go below the horizon.
The woods was beautiful according to y/n. Birds chirping, the blue and orange sky was hardly visible through the canopies, making it dark inside the woods. She simply liked the surroundings.
"Jin!" Y/n called out, "let's sit for a minute, I'm tired with all that walking"
With that Y/n sat on a rock whereas Jin was still standing, back facing her. She admired his broad shoulders, indeed it was broad compared to the other boys she had met.
"Y/n. Have you ever thought how do the creatures look like?"
Jin turned towards y/n who was busy with her shoe laces.
"Huh? Why do you ask?" She questioned leaning her head by a nearby tree
Her question went answered
"Let's get going. I'll say that to you on the way. It's almost dark" Jin insisted
They resumed their walking when Jin started telling her, his story
"I heard that, those creatures have a beautiful face but it's just a 'illusion'. They don't have any particular shape or size so they roam around being humans"
A chill ran down her spine. The small hairs on her neck stood up just by hearing that. And it was completed dark by that time. Jin could feel her terrified soul.
"And", he continued. "They have black eyes, darker than the mid night itself. Sharp teeth and a horrifying pale face. And I also heard that they are crazy for human soul."
Y/n was blacked out for a moment. She was struck with horror. Never in her life someone told her about the creature in so much detail. No one had ever seen it. But how did Jin know?
Before she could open her mouth she heard some noises. Jin wasn't infront of her. She was alone. Silence was all she could muster around her. All of a sudden, The sound of twigs breaking and dry leaves being crushed below something was heard. Sweat was slowly guiding down the her face. Eyes roaming around the area and ears sharp with every sound she heard
"Y/n" Jin was infront of her again. She let out a huge breathe of relief. She was terrified to her gut. Rather than asking him about his house she asked him a thing that she was curious about at the very moment
"How did you know, how those creatures look like?"
It was dark, the only source of light was the moonlight that seeped through the ways of the branches of the trees. But y/n could make out that something was odd, odd about Jin
Though he was facing him, his head was held down. Y/n couldn't understand what happened to him till he let out a chuckle, not a light but a mocking one
"Oh y/n, why wouldn't I know about myself?"
Y/n's heart stopped beating as she witnessed the sight infront of her
Jin, the boy who she knew was no longer the boy she had grown close to. Blue glowing light started around his body like a smoke. He slowing looked up, only for y/n to see his back eyes, it will be an understatement if I say eyes. It looked like there were two holes instead of his eyes and sharp razor teeth. A evil smirk was plastered on his pale face.
"Y-you" Y/n couldn't say anything. No words came out of her mouth
"Oh y/n. Didn't I tell you? Those creatures fool others with their illusions for luring their Target? And you fell right into my trap. Your soul is so sweet. I'm craving it for a long time now"
She looked at the creature infront of her and closed her eyes. Jin or the creature advanced towards her and was ready to take her soul when something unexpected happen in the scenario.
The girl who was terrified a moment ago, smirked all of sudden which stopped and caught him off guard.
"Do you think I am that dumb? I knew about you. What you truely are. You said the prey fell into the trap? Well you're right"
Dark clouds started to form around her. And she wasn't a girl. Two horns settled on her head. Red bloodshot eyes. Her pale face was decorated with veins and two sharp fangs. And not to forget her big black wings.
Jin backed away. He wasn't expecting this. Tho he was an soul eating creature but he was nothing compared to a devil.
The soul eater is known to be a perfect prey for the devils as their body contains many souls they have eaten over the past decades. They are used to satisfy the hunger of the devils as well are used to make potions. Just like the soul eater, devils also use illusions to fool others.
There was menacing laugh which came out from y/n.
"Well you're right. The prey fell into the trap. You fell into my trap, SeokJin"
