A Nightmare In Reality

It's only been two days since we returned to Neol, but Claire has hardly left her room.

I think she... misses the Earthians...

I can't sleep. I can only think about the things that are probably troubling Claire...

So I got up to get a snack.

As I was passing through the corridors, I thought for sure I saw Claire. I guess she can't sleep either.

"Claire," I started. "Are you okay?"

"...I'm fine." She sounded rather emotionless. She does this whenever she is trying to hide an emotion...

Then Claire did something that reminded me of one of our childhood days... she ran.

"Claire, you can talk to me about it!"  I ran after her, hoping to catch up. I followed her to the garden, only to find everything burning. "Wh-what?!"

"I'sn't it marvelous?" Claire asked me.

"What?"

"This is the future. Every little thing..." She brushed her hand against a flower and it caught fire. "Swallowed by a greater force... a darker force..."

"Claire! This isn't you! I yelled to her. Claire turned around to face me with a seemingly evil smirk on her face.

"You're absolutely right. This isn't me."

Okay. NOW I am confused... I then saw something.

A black crescent mark on my "sister's" forehead...

It's not Claire, is it?

I ran to Claire's room and saw her struggling to sleep.

"No... no no no... stop... please..." she said quietly in her sleep. I saw her forehead was glowing... but it was dark... a black glow.

"CLAIRE!" She shot up, the glow vanishing and tears threatening to fall from her eyes.

"Elise..." She got up and hugged me. "I saw so many terrible things... terrible things..." Claire then passed out on the spot and collapsed to the ground.

I looked outside, where the garden was visible, and saw that it was no longer on fire... someone was projecting Claire's nightmare... or some part of it...

"Don't worry, Claire," I said to her. "I'll help you. I'll find out what's going on."

How'd you like that?
