Kim Jisoo.
"Should I put my hair in a ponytail or should I just let it down?" I asked Jennie, my cousin on her opinion on what looks better on me.
I always come to her whenever I have a fashion crisis. Between the two of us, she's more knowledgeable in this field more than me. I guess she got that from Aunt Chaerin, her mother.
"I think you should just let it down. You're just going to Taehyung's shooting range anyways. It's not like you'll be out in the public." She commented. Later tonight, he's gonna teach me how to use guns, I figured I should learn how to shoot so I can protect myself.
I know you're thinking that why would we just go to a shooting range when we're the wealthiest people in Korea. But as the saying goes, in life you can't have everything. I may have the money, but I'm constantly in protection that's why I can't travel that easily. I even have to lie that I'm gonna sleep over at Jennie's just to see him.
It felt suffocating. It feels like torture. I constantly have body guards around following me everywhere I go. Of course, I understand that my Dad just doesn't want me to be in danger, but he could've prevented it by not meddling with illegal drug deals. It just made things worse.
"Earth to my cousin." Jennie waved her hand at me, making me snap back to reality.
"I don't think it's a good idea. What if someone sees us and reports it to Dad? It's not just my life we're talking about here, it's also his." I'm having second thoughts on whether I should go or not. The constant "what ifs" always sneak up on my mind.
"Did you forget the part that Taehyung owns the place? I'll cover for you, okay? Now go." Jennie shoved me to the front door. I wasn't gonna protest anyways, I just wanted to hug and thank her for not snitching on me. She may act like she doesn't care but deep down, I know that she does.
I planned to walk on my way there. It's not that far from here. Plus, I'm getting nauseous from all the car trips these past few days. It would be nice to have some fresh air for a while.

"What took you so long?" Taehyung asked as I opened the door.
"I walked on my way here." I casually replied.
"Didn't I tell you that it's dangerous for a girl to walk alone, especially during night time? You could've just told me that you didn't have someone to fetch you." Taehyung answered. I rolled my eyes, there goes his dramatic side again.
"That's why I'm here. To learn how to protect myself because I can't depend on you the whole time. You have your own life and I don't want you to ruin your future because of me."
He attended law school for college, he even begged his dad to let him go because that's his dream career. Ironic, isn't it? He is the heir of their drug cartel but he's still pursuing a career in law. I was worried because he started skipping his classes and agendas whenever something inconvenient happens to me.
I strongly believe that love shouldn't stop you from chasing your dreams but instead, they should be there along the way to guide you. I didn't want to hold him back, I want to stay by his side while he chases his dreams.
We started to walk towards the shooting range. I felt adrenaline rush over my body as we get closer and closer. Taehyung opened the door for me to get in. I suddenly remembered when we were enemies back then, he slammed the door on my face. I broke my nose because of that.
"Hey T, who's this girl?" A tall guy asked with the same tattoo as Jungkook and Taehyung. Wait, I forgot to ask Taehyung about Jungkook. I'll ask him later.
"She's my girl." The guy rolled his eyes at Taehyung's statement which made me chuckle.
"I'm Namjoon by the way. Better known as B-4/7, call me Four for short." We shaked hands and he winked at me.
"Stop flirting with my lady, Four." Taehyung quickly pulled me away while Namjoon just laughed.
Namjoon handed us the guns. I never expected that it would be heavy. I used to go to shooting ranges with my Dad when we were still close and it looked so easy when he does it.
I pointed the gun towards Taehyung jokingly but he just smiled.
"The gun is loaded." He casually said, I almost dropped the gun. He didn't tell me that it's loaded. What if I shot him because I thought it didn't have any bullets?
I pointed the gun towards the target. I didn't want to ask for any help since I'm mad at him for not telling me that the gun I'm holding is loaded. I was about to shoot when he suddenly hugged me from the back.
"Safety first." He said as he gave me headphones.
"What's this for? Listening to music?" I wore it but it didn't have any wires, maybe it's bluetooth.
Taehyung chuckled at my statement, "You have to use that so that the noise of the gunshots wouldn't be so loud."
I nodded my head. He also gave me safety goggles. I've watched my dad do this the whole time yet he doesn't wear any safety gear.
Taehyung taught me the proper way on how to hold and shoot a gun. I listened carefully to what he said and analyzed everything, even the smallest of details.
"Like this." Taehyung did a demonstration. He looked like he's been doing this his whole life. He didn't even wear a safety gear.
"Wow." It perfectly landed on the target's heart. Now I know why he doesn't have any bodyguards around. His parents must've allowed him since he knows how to protect himself.
"Try it." He leaned his body on the wall and observed me.
I was tensed but I tried not to show it. I didn't want to disappoint him. I know that it's my first time and that it's okay to fail, but I wanted to prove that I can protect myself. I hated being referred to as weak.
I pointed the gun towards the target. I was about to shoot when he grabbed me by the waist. What is it this time?
"Proper position, babe. Your feet should be shoulder-width apart, your left leg should be a step past your right foot and lean forward slightly." He adjusted my position.
"Understood?" I only nodded in response.
I took a deep breath first before finally pulling the trigger. I looked at the target and the bullet hole was on its forehead.
"Headshot! Good job." I saw him smile widely which made me automatically smile. I sighed in relief, I didn't disappoint him.
We started firing our guns at our targets. Taehyung's shots were all perfect, it was all bullseye. While me on the other hand, I hit a few bullseyes but some weren't perfect shots.
I felt secure in my own skin. I felt safe knowing that I didn't have to rely my safety on my bodyguards and Taehyung anymore. After all, I'm the only one who can protect myself. I am my own security.
