Harvest, Sunset
"Mission begins in 60 seconds," spoke a voice through the intercoms in two separate houses. In both of these houses were two teams of nine different mercenaries. Each mercenary on both teams were doppelgangers of each other who looked and sounded exactly alike. The only difference between them was the fact that one wore red while the other wore blue.
In the houses, it was a commotion as the members of the teams were speaking to each other and readying their weapons for the upcoming battle. Everyone, that is, except for one member of the blue team. He stood in the corner of the room not interacting with anyone else. He was this team's Scout. However, he was different from the opposing team's Scout aside from just color. He also wore a bulky blue tracksuit with a white undershirt that the regular Scout didn't. He was dubbed by his team as the Epic Scout.
"Mission begins in 30 seconds," the announcer spoke once again. The blue team members who were sitting then got up and they all gathered to the doors except for the Epic Scout. The team was felling extremely confident due to the presence of their unique teammate. For you see, the Epic Scout wasn't any ordinary Scout. And not solely because of his choice in fashion. He had grown to be a legend amongst the organizations RED and BLU for the fact that against all odds, he managed to slay an entire red team on his own without being hit once. Nobody knew the secret to his power, but the blue team did know that the red team likely stood no chance due to the Epic Scout alone.
The blue team laughed as this battle was going to be an easy victory for them. Or so they thought. Little did they know that on one of the hills overlooking the area stood a figure wearing a red hood.
"Mission begins in 10 seconds," the announcer spoke yet again. Everyone cocked their weapons and got ready to rush out onto the battlefield. The announcer's voice rang out. "Five. Four. Three. Two. One." With that, a siren sounded off and the large metal doors opened. Everyone else took off while the Epic Scout just walked. The Snipers and Engineers rushed to the large farmhouses near by while everyone else ran towards the center shed. The red and blue teams soon spotted each other and opened fire. Gunshots and explosions rang out across the entire battlefield.
The blue Spy ran through all the commotion and into the center shed to not be seen. He glanced behind him as he entered to make sure no one was following. He turned his head back forward, but then immediately stopped and took a step back when he saw the other person in the shed. The person wore a red hood with a white blouse and a black and red skirt. Due to this, Spy clearly knew she was a girl.
"Hey, little girl," the Spy said in a heavy french accent.
"Ruby," the girl said. Spy sighed.
"Ruby," the Spy corrected himself, "this is no place for people like you to be. I'd suggest leaving."
"And why's that?" Ruby asked.
"Because there's a battle going on," Spy grumbled. "And it's not unlikely that's you'll get killed in the crossfires. So leave now."
"Why are these people fighting?" Ruby asked again.
"Because we were paid to," Spy answered while he took out a cigarette.
"So, all of these people are fighting and trying to kill each other for no good reason other than someone's paying you?" Ruby further questioned.
