"I love you." - she was shocked by hearing those words. The whole world had stopped in expectation. Tears rolled down her eyes, she started crying. It was the moment where all her future, all her hopes, and dreams disappeared without the trace. Why did her friend have to fall in love with her?

These two could always smile together, tell each other stories and funny jokes, and just enjoy each other company. She couldn't imagine her life without him, although...

"I-I... love you... too" - lie hurt her throat, but she didn't have another choice. She closed her eyes, trying to believe in her feelings, although she imagined it to save her friend's life.
Silence enveloped the area. She opened the eyes and glared at her friend, noticing him falling down the ground. He winced in agony for a couple of seconds, and then laid breathless. He was dead - realization hit her.

Tears had never helped her - not that time. Flowers were very smart and never convinced by the pain or lie. Cruel reality - either you are loved or you are killed. Nothing would be ever changed.

She wiped the tears and stood up, looking at her friend in the last time. Unfortunately, she would never be able to love. Interesting, would she see him someday again.

The girl walked somewhere, leaving on the ground the corpse of her friend, covered by many flowers. Although, the one petal was different - yellow petal of agrimonia, laying not far from the rest.

WRITING ANGST TO MAKE YOUR DAY BRIGHTER
To be honest, I don't like hanahaki aus that much, because everything there goes by almost similar scenario, but the idea of making someone reject the love confession, even knowing that it would lead the death of the person. In this case, the girl didn't reject the confession but lied about her feelings, which is equal. Hope you liked it!
