I opened my eyes. The ceiling was different from last night. There was a ceiling though, that was all that mattered.
I looked around to find myself in the garage. I stood up, feeling my very noticeable ears twitch to the sound of arguing. Already? But it was so... Early? I grasped the doorknob, twisting and turning it, but to no avail. It was locked.
They locked me out here.
Those so-called parents of mine.
They adopted me when I was little, as my brother had told me. I was one year old, and was not showing any signs of... dogginess.
As I grew up, though, my ears and tail grew longer. And bigger. My parents started to slap me. They hurt me. Soon, the whole town did. My only safe place was with my little brother, Shmidi. DJ Shmidi, to be exact.
We made songs for play and fun together. We loved each other. We cared for each other, and helped each other.
"Hey idiot!" The door slammed open. My father stood in the doorway. "Get inside. You're late."
"Yes father," I responded, walking in. I dragged my tail behind me.
"Hey Ren!", I hear brother exclaim. He hugged me. I hugged him back. I liked the feeling of love in my chest. We pulled away, looked at each other, smiled, then parted ways. Little meet-ups like that always made my day.
However, when I took a step or two forward, I fell. I landed on my cheek, bleeding against the hardwood floor. When I got up and looked behind me, I found my father stepping on my tail. It hurt. Too much.
"Breakfast. Get up." My mother helped me up, threw me on a chair, and gave a bowl of dog food. I felt my eyes tear up.
"Yes mother," I muttered. My mother was someone who was more disgusted by me, than a bully like my dad and the boys at school.
