Three planets. One of each element of this new place. Fire, water, and crystal. A home to many hybrids unaware of the feud they were born into.
This is where our story begins.Jemistire- 1687
"Who are you?"
"I am... me."
The blue-grey cat stared at the rat, puzzled. "You have no name?"
The rodent shook her head.
"Well then, I'll name you... Serenity! Cause you look so sweet!"
For once, the rat smiled. Serenity. She finally had a name. "What's your name?"
"Claventine, but everyone just calls me Calvie." The cat grinned.
A pair of the ages, a cat and a rat, two friends against the world.
After this first encounter, Claventine and Serenity became the closest friends. They were inseperable.
Everyone around them couldn't understand how a British Shorthair cat could ever even consider being friends with such a weird creature like Serenity. A demon rat that a cat befriended, just the thought was outlandish, and yet, Claventine and Serenity didn't care.
One day, the two set off for a picnic outside the town.
"Calvie, do you even know where we're going?!" the rodent huffed. "We're lost, aren't we?"
"No, we're almost there! Just hurry up!"As the she caught up to her feline friend, Serenity looked over a massive gorge. It was so deep, she couldn't even see the bottom. She noticed a walkway down to a cave-looking entrance.
"W-we're not g-going down there, are we?"
"Oh, goodness me, hun! No! Of course not! Not down in Hallow Gorge! One fall down there and your dead." she said, making a slicing motion to her throat.
"S-stop that!! That's not funny!" She pushed at her friend's shoulder playfully.
Claventine chuckled and walked over to a small acacia tree and laid down her picnic blanket under its shade. She proceeded to sit on the blanket and gesturing her friend over.
"Here? Hm, this is a nice spot"
"Yea, I know you shadows don't like sunlight that much, so I thought this would be perfect." she said, setting out the plates, food, and drinks.
Serenity looked over at her dear friend, starstruck. The beauty and grace of the feline entranced her. She had never felt this for anyone before, but she saw the gorgeousness in her friend's elegance.
"Tea?"
The rodent stared blankly at her friend for a moment before coming back to reality. "Hm?""Would you like some tea?"
"Oh! Yes, please!"
As Claventine poured the tea, her face morphed into a look of concern. When she finished pouring, she looked at the rodent with distress.
"Serenity, this is the third time this week you've zoned out on me... Do I have something on my face or something?"
"No, of course not! I just have had a lot on my mind is all..."
Claventine leaned in closer to her friend. "Is it a guy?" she whispered.
"What?! Calvie! Noooooo! No guys! Ew." the rat spat her words into the air beside her.
"Sure, well, if you ever need to talk, I'm here." she smiled.
"I know, Calvie, and I thank you. Now that you mention it, what's been on your mind?"
The cat's eyes widened from her friends words. She blinked a bit from the sudden question and sighed."Am I that obvious?"
"Yea, you kind of are" she chuckled.
She played with her dress, trying to articulate her words as best she could. A faint blush on her cheeks."So, you know Zifalus?"
"The mouse boy? Yea, what about him?"
The girl turned away from Serenity's gaze, still fumbling with her dress.
"Wait... you... like him?" A grimacing look flooded her face. She knew before she even spoke the answer.
"We've been talking more and more and he just... grew on me."
Serenity looked away from the feline, pushing back a rush of tears. She could never know how Serenity felt about her if she was in love with another.
"I-I gotta go." Serenity got up and faded into the shadows.
"Wait! Serenity!" she yelled. The girl had already gone. "....was it something I said?"
After that day, Claventine would spend most of her time with Zifalus, leaving Serenity alone. On those days, Serenity had no protection from the other animals calling her "evil", or "abomination". All she had was the picture of her dear friend only salting the wound.
The worst part was when the two of them had found two powerful stones. Zifalus called his the Gem of Stone and Claventine's, the Aqua game. Another fellow, a fox named Dalmorus, found another. He had named it "Pyro".
They had decided to create a counsel of "gods" with these new abilities, driving Claventine farther away from Serenity, because of her being busy so often. This was until she found one of her own. Life. The gem of creation. She was elated with this dicovery. She could finally be with her best friend day and night, but when she came, Claventine was not the same.

"What are you doing here?" growled the fox. "A germ like you has no place in a place like this!"
Serenity held up the stone. "I...-" She looked over to Claventine's shocked expression. "I am a wielder of a gem!" she announced with confidence.
The fox laughed hysterically. "You?! Your worthy of that honor?! The heavens must have definitely lost their minds to give you such a role in our world, Demon!"
Serenity just stood there, staring at the three. A tear fell down her cheek. "Fifteen years..."
"Excuse me?" he asked, raising his hand to his ear. "What was that?"
"Fifteen long years, watching the girl I loved walk around with two know-it-all men, and I FINALLY can be near her and this is my welcome?!"Claventine gave her a grim look. "L-love?"
Serenity's ears dropped realising her words. She quickly shook her head. "No, you know what?! YES! Love! I sat back and watched you fall for a guy who I knew loved his work more than anything else, while I cried every night, screaming 'Why couldn't I be him?!'"Zifalus didn't speak. He stared blankly at the cat. "I do care about you, Claventine, but these worlds need protected. It is my duty as protector."
The girl's eyes watered. "I understand. Still, I don't like girls, Serenity. I thought you knew that. I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear, but I think it's time for you to leave.""Fine!" she spat as she turned around, flicking her tail in their direction. Her eyes glaced back at them one last time. "You'll regret this."
As she walked back to the village, she thought to herself "I can't go back to the village. The people hate me, and now they'll hate me even more with their 'gods' against me. So... where do I go?"
"Serenity."She stopped dead in her tracks to the sound of her name. As she turned around, she saw a large green figure standing over her.
A cat of sorts, but she couldn't tell what type. He wore a deep blue three piece suit, red tie, and black dress shoes. His eyes were sunlight yellow and his hair spiked up to the sky like a paintbrush that had set up after a hard stroke. His stare sent chills to her spine. It was cold, emotionless, maybe even angry.
"Where is it, Serenity?"
"W-who are you?" she studdered, slowly backing up.
"Tell me where it is and I'll tell you."
"W-where what is?"
"The gem, Serenity. It is not meant to be yours."
"What?! No! You can't have that!" she yelled, covering her hand where it laid.
"Don't make me hurt you, Serenity. Give it to me."
"I-I don't know who you think you are, pal, but this is mine! I found it, it's mine! D-don't underestimate me! I'm a shadow demon and my bite is worse than my bark!"
The man glared down at her. "Fine, but know you chose this." he said, pressing his finger to her head.
"Wait, what are you doi-"
Then everything stopped.
