Tell Me Everything

Thomas POV:

"Okay. I need you all to bear with me as I tell you this." Thomas told the group seated before him. He had eventually caught up with Derek, Isaac,- "the scarf guy"- and Malia. Now he proceeded to tell them all about his time in the Maze.

"These people standing behind me are Minho, Gally, Frypan, Aris, Sonya, Harriet, Brenda, and Jorge. We met during this endeavor, and they helped me escape from an organization called W.I.C.K.E.D. that took us captive and used us."

Over the next few hours Thomas told the pack about the Maze, W.I.C.K.E.D., the Scorch, and even the Flare. He talked about all the things they were forced to do, and all they lost. Thomas told them how he had lost his best friend (though he didn't say how), his lover, and so many others. When Thomas mentioned Teresa Lydia's face darkened and she looked away. Just wait, he thought. You are not going to be thinking that much longer.

"When I got back and met up with Scott, he told me of all the supernatural. He told me about Allison," Thomas started cautiously. "When Scott told me about all that I'd forgotten, it all came flooding back. Except one thing. Allison. For the life of me I could not picture her. I didn't know she had long, beautiful brown hair. I didn't know that she had deep, brown eyes. I didn't know," Thomas continued hesitantly, "that she wasn't really dead."

The result of his words were as expected: utter disbelief. Even the Gladers were surprised; they had not expected this turn of story. Soon the chaos broke out. Derek was shouting, Isaac was shouting, Scott was shouting; but Lydia, however, was sitting quietly staring at Thomas.

"Everyone quiet!" she shouted. "Please. Thomas is telling the truth. Use your super hearing, or whatever, and listen to his heartbeat. Plus, I never really felt it, you know. I felt her dying. I felt her slip away as we left, but I never felt her really go. She was my best friend, so I think I would know when she is dead. Not to mention the fact that I'm a banshee. It just never really felt right, you know. Now this all makes sense. Except the how and the why."

Scott wasn't ready to give up yet. "But what about her heartbeat? I heard it stop! She was gone and I knew it, so why are you trying to hurt us like this and-"

"It was W.I.C.K.E.D." Thomas said as if this explained everything.

Minho looked over at him like he grew a third eyebrow over his left ear. "What do you mean, ya shank. You sure your not jacked in the head because your not making any shucking sense."

"He's not the only one." Derek muttered under his breath.

Minho ignored him and continued. "What do ya mean it was W.I.C.K.E.D.? If you haven't noticed, some of us would like you to elaborate."

Thomas sighed. "Allison never died. She was given a heart-slowing serum. I remember. She came over to give me a drink because I was dying, but then I didn't drink it because there was an odd blue liquid settled in it at the bottom. I told her of this, but she just shrugged and drank it anyway."

Scott was pissed. "YOU LET HER DRINK IT?!" Then his voice dropped to a ragged whisper. "You let her drink it and then we left her to die. You asshole. And you didn't even think to mention this? At all? Before we left her to die of a heart slowing serum?"

Now it was Thomas's turn to get pissed. "ALLISON IS NOT DEAD!!!" he realized he was lying, and that might get their hopes up, but it was best to continue. "And if you forgot, I was a little busy dying and being unconscious. So thanks for that sentiment. Anyway, W.I.C.K.E.D. picked Allison up after  we left. The shanks took her back to their facility and tortured her until she cooperated; same thing they did to me; same thing they did to all of us. Then she became another person. She was no longer Allison, but Teresa. She helped W.I.C.K.E.D. She betrayed us. She helped us escape. Everything she did was different. She became the most useful immune helping W.I.C.K.E.D. and became the most useful immune helping us. She made the cure for the Flare. She discovered it. But then everything changed." Thomas had been speaking in awe of Teresa, for he forgot how much he loved her.

"There was an orchestrated attempt to destroy W.I.C.K.E.D. but we were all inside the building still. She and I were escaping, but I was shot by Ratman. Sh-she helped me escape to the roof, practically carrying me. We thought we were going to die up there. But then these shanks showed up at the last second in a Berg." Thomas made a choked noise between a sob and a laugh. He was doing his best to keep the tears in, but he knew what was coming next.

"She practically had to toss me on the Berg because I was bleeding out. The buildings next to us were shattering. But she could make it. All she had to do was jump. But sh-she didn't. The building next to ours crashed and hit the one she was still standing on. Sh-she s-smiled at me and f-fell to her d-death. She s-saved m-me and all I w-wanted was t-to die. I was b-bleeding out already, n-not to mention e-everyone I'd lost. Ch-chuck, Winston, Alby, N-newt, and Ter-" Thomas was cut off by his overwhelming amount of sobs. This was the first time he'd actually let himself talk about this. Let himself cry, feel, remember. He couldn't finish, so, through his tears, he looked pleadingly at Minho.

"What this shank is trying to say is that with everyone gone, he felt it not necessary to stay in this life any longer. Whoever the hell is up there had given him a chance to go. He thought he really wanted to. But the time wasn't right, or something. He was given the chance to come back to you guys. To remember. And for all I know, i-it could have b-been N-newt or Chuck u-up there giving him a g-gift. O-or even T-teresa. It c-could have b-been any of th-them saying this i-isn't your t-time." Minho finished shakily.

Thomas was surprised. He had never once seen Minho cry. He had seen his fear and sadness, but never once  had he seen him cry. Soon everyone in the room had at least a couple tears in their eyes. Thomas composed himself long enough to finish what he wanted to say.

"I think the reason I f-fell in l-love with Teresa was because I knew I had a tie to her. Deep down something inside me was saying this is right. But it was a 'Storge' kind of love. Not intimate, but familial. Because she was Allison and I was Stiles."

The room was silent. Except for the occasional sniffles, no one made a sound. Finally Lydia spoke.

"They say love is like a fire. Your heart can be a bright, brilliant ember, or a dark piece of charcoal. Love burns through your whole soul, your whole being, changing who you are. You can have a blue flame of love; hotter than the rest, but more rare. You can have an orange flame; average, but easy to find. One fire can be lit only once. You will never light the same fire. Sometimes a fire can be rekindled, but it will not be the same. Allison was the brightest, hottest fire, and you had the luck of rekindling that fire in a different time. Some people never stay. To think we would have had the luck of Allison being alive is trivial. To earn the chance to have closure is a pulchritudinous trouvaille."

Lydia closed her eyes and let it all sink in as the others stared dumbfounded at her.

"Lydia is right. We had our time, our chance, so now it is time we move on," Derek offered.

The others were reluctant, but they gave. Scott walked up to the Gladers and addressed them.

"If you guys are staying, best to make arrangements. Because tomorrow, you are going back to school."
