When You Thought it Couldn't get any Worse

Eveything is pitch black. My stomach can't take any more of this. I squeeze my eyes shut. I hear a long, high pitched scream off in the distance...oh wait thats me. As soon as feel my feet touch wet leaves I crumple to the ground. "Max. Why would you bring me to such a horrible place?" I just wanted to get some answers. "It's not horrible!" He said sounding slightly offended. "You may belong here but unlike you I'm real!" I shout. I must have really hurt him this time because when he looks at me his eyes are hollow and I know what I said was unforgivable. He turns around and runs into the woods. "Max!" I call as I run after him. Suddenly I hear Max's voice. I think he is telling me to run. His voice is distant but I can hear it coming closer. All of the sudden I feel his hand wrap around my arm and jerk me forward. I don't know what's going on and I'm to scared to move. He shoves me forward and drags me to an old stump. He forces me to climb on. "W-what is that." I ask suddenly aware of a cold chill running up my spine. I am shivering uncontrolably and if it weren't for Max's hand still gripping me I might have fallen. I feel the tugging once more at my fingers and then just as the gray shadowy figure lunges we plunge into darkness once more.
