Kiel's POV

I'm on my way back to my clinic when my phone rang.

"Ah D-doc? Anong oras daw po kayo babalik dito sa clinic?" She nervously asked. My brow arched as I easily recognized the voice of the caller.

I think you forgot something important, young lady.

"'Yong pasyente po kasi-"

"Mina," I disrupted. "What's our rule, again?"

Mainit na nga ang ulo ko ay dinagdagan niya pa dahil sa biglaan niyang pagtawag.

"I thought I made myself clear?" My forehead creased more when I still didn't hear any response.

Kung kailan nagtitipid ako ng pasensya.

Is she even listening to what I am saying?

I can't fucking hear anything.

"Hello? Am I talking to a wall?" I asked again.

She knows me well that when I go outside my clinic, it means no phone calls allowed.

Strictly.

Not unless I'll be the one to call, that's the only exception.

You can text me but I don't entertain phone calls. Naiirita ako sa ingay at bukod sa mas nakakaistorbo 'yon ay pakiramdam ko, nasasayang ang oras ko imbes na ituon sa pagtatrabaho.

I don't have a fixed schedule as well on what time I'll be able to come back, so it will really depends on the state of every patient that I am checking.

I wonder what happened.

"Mina." I asked again.

"Y-yes, doc Premore?"

"Speak."

"D-doc Premore?"

"I hate repeating myself, right?"

"Y-yes po Doc Premore."

Damn it.

Why is she even stuttering? I'm just asking, though.

This is futile.

I heaved a sigh to calm myself. I should not let my tiredness consume me.

"Explain," I said as I tapped the loud speaker button and rested my phone in its holder.

"May p-pasyente kasi, doc. Kailangang kailangan daw po niya kayong makita. Nag-explain naman ako sa kanya na baka after lunch na kayo makabalik dahil may naka-schedule kayong ooperahan kaninang alas siete at hindi rin sigurado kung ilang oras ang itatagal ng surgery. Pero-"

"Alright, calm down. I'll be there in few minutes." I ended the call.

Mina is my secretary.

A very dedicated and passionate with her work.

She was my secretary since I became a registered physician. Aside from being obedient, she strictly follows everything I say that is work-related, especially with my rules, and this was the first time that it happened.

Good thing that the major surgery which was scheduled for today is already done at around eleven o'clock.

I'm just wondering what happened. Maybe, the patient's state is really needed to be checked, and gladly, I've got a thoughtful secretary.

Napabuga nalang ako ng hangin.

I felt somehow, guilty that I didn't control my temper. Nataasan ko tuloy siya ng boses.
