"Hey," his voice, sweet and familiar, greeted me through the phone. I had missed it dearly, longing for the sound that held memories and a sense of comfort. We had reached an agreement to merge our businesses together, but our interactions had always been through representatives. Now, finally, he wanted to meet face to face.

His invitation to the ball filled me with excitement, a flurry of thoughts and emotions. It was time to see him again, to reconnect, and to perhaps explore the possibilities that lay before us.

"I want to escort you to the ball," he said, his words dripping with sincerity. "Will you let me have this pleasure?"

A smile danced across my lips as I replied, "Yes, it will be my pleasure, old friend."

As I hung up the phone, my mind raced with anticipation. What would he look like after all these years? Would he still have that mischievous glint in his eyes, the one that always made my heart skip a beat? I could hardly contain my excitement and nerves as I prepared for the night ahead.

----

I slowly came down from my marble white large stairs to the hall. Now I lived in Atherton, California. I lived alone, not with my family. I bought this huge mansion which I have adored when I first laid my eyes on it. It wasn't close to the other houses, but more separated. I thought it would be a better idea to not have a neighbor due to my business.

I think for a moment I stopped breathing.
I couldn't get my eyes off of him.
He had this effect on me, and it was driving me crazy. It felt like he was my everything and I just found it; my lover, my friend, my brother, my family, my enemy, my business, my everything

He was astonishing as always. He was wearing a black tuxedo which fitted him perfectly. His large shoulders, his tall figure, strong arms. *stop drooling over him* And then my eyes moved upwards to his face. There it was, those two emerald eyes I missed so much. His eyes smiled into my soul. I smiled back at him.

I descended the grand, marble staircase of my Atherton mansion, feeling a rush of anticipation and nerves. The mansion, that I had adored from the moment I laid eyes on it, stood separated from the other houses, creating a sense of privacy and seclusion. As I made my way down the staircase, I had to remind myself to breathe.

And there he was, waiting for me in the hall, looking as astonishing as ever. He stood tall and confident in his perfectly fitted black tuxedo, his broad shoulders and strong arms catching my eye. But it was his face that captivated me the most. Those emerald eyes, shining with a warmth and familiarity that was like a balm for my soul. I couldn't tear my gaze away from him.

A smile slowly spread across my face as I approached him, and he offered me his hand. Our eyes locked, and it felt like time stood still in that moment. He had always had this effect on me, driving me to the brink of madness with his presence. It was as if he encompassed everything I could ever desire – lover, friend, family – he was my everything.

"I missed you," the words slipped from my lips, filled with sincerity and longing. I couldn't help myself. I wrapped my arms around him, pulling him into a tight embrace, as if there were no tomorrow. His embrace, in return, was even tighter, as if he never wanted to let me go.

My fingers tangled in his hair, the strands soft and inviting. I couldn't resist the urge to touch every inch of him, as if committing his features to memory. From his hair to his strong shoulders, I explored and savored every muscle and curve. It was like I was rediscovering him, reacquainting myself with every part of him that I had missed.

His touch, in turn, was like magic. The warmth of his hands cupping my cheeks sent shivers down my spine. It was a feeling like no other, one that made my senses come alive. Butterflies danced in my stomach, my eyes glazed over with desire, and every nerve in my body was urging me closer, demanding that I kiss him.
