"You should buy some sort of gloves. Or even something to cover at least one of your fingers" Dabi said facing his partner about a problem that was causing them to fight a lot.
"Listen, I have already told you at least a thousand times. I can control myself, okay? I have been living with this quirk since I was six. I know how to avoid touching people I don't want to hurt" Shigaraki answered almost offended by the luck of trust.
"This is different now. It's not just about you and I. It's about your fucking children. Our sons. What if you accidentally touch them and they disintegrate? What will you do? I'll fucking kill you if you hurt them, it doesn't matter if it's not on purpose".
"Language, Dabi. I won't accidentally touch them. I won't disintegrate my own sons. Why can't you just trust me?" Shigaraki was irritated. He stroked his forehead trying to sent the headache caused by his partner's complaints away.
"Don't tell me how to speak. I'm fucking angry. Angrier than I have ever been at you. For fuck's sake, I'm not asking you the world. It was okay when you only risked to hurt me, but I'm not letting you risk to hurt them".
"I have never risked to hurt you. Do you really think I am such a fool? Why did you even adopt two children with me if you trust me so little?"
"Because I fucking love you, and I really wanted to have a family with you. But I'd never thought that you'd be so selfish. Not when your sons are involved. It was a thing acting so careless towards me, I'm an adult and I'm perfectly capable to understand what I risk, but they're not. I'm able to be careful. They are not. They don't feel the need to be careful around their father, they're little, damn it. They don't imagine that you could kill them by mistake".
"Dabi, for the last time, I won't kill them by mistake. I won't kill anyone by mistake. I love them as much as you do. I'm not being selfish, but you're are being unreasonable. We've been together for, how long? Six years? And you're still here, aren't you?"
"It's not a time problem. All that is needed is a one second mistake. One fucking second and you could disintegrate them. Why are you even complaining so much? What's your problem? I'm only asking you to wear a fucking protection on one of your fucking fingers when you're around them. Is it that much of a problem? Do you really care more about your little finger's comfort than about your children's life?" Dabi raised his voice. He was used to swear a lot when he was angry, but he usually had a calm attitude. Only in rare occasions he would lose his patience. Almost never with his kids or his lover. But that was an exception. He couldn't believe that the man he loved wasn't willing to protect their sons only to prove that he was able to control his powers.
"Daddy? Why are you fighting? You're scaring us" a little black-haired kid said entering the room rubbing his red eyes. He was on the verge of tears, probably scared by his parents' fight.
"It's okay, love. Dad and I are having a little discussion. Nothing to be afraid of, okay?" Dabi asked reassuring. He knelt down to face the kid and ruffled his already messy hair.
He picked up his five years old and hugged him tight to his chest. He rocked him a bit, a hand in his hair and the other drawing small circles on his back to calm him down.
The boy sniffled leaning his cheek on Dabi's shoulder, hugging him around his neck, rolling up his leg around his waist like he was a monkey and closing his eyes.
"I'm bringing him back to bed. Watch him well because you could lose him any moment now. Tomura, I won't let you near them if we cannot compromise. Should I kick you out, and believe me, I don't want to".
Dabi entered the poorly lighted room of his children. He placed the boy he was holding on his bed, tucked him in, and went to sit on his other son's bed.
