The bright sun shone brightly overhead as Helga waved goodbye to all the people of Southampton England below. Helga was on the Titanic, the grandest ship in the world. Mother said it was unsinkable, and it was. It was bigger than any ship Helga had seen. She had just turned 15 a week ago, and Her trip on Titanic was basically a birthday present. Helga felt like royalty. Though she was not traveling in first class, she was in Third, she felt like a princess.

As the pier slowly disappeared from the distance, the ship began speeding up. More people were leaving the deck and going back down below to their room.
Helga stayed up on deck and breathed in the beautiful smelling ocean water. It was like a natural perfume blowing in the wind.

After a while, Mother came up behind her and gently tapped her on her shoulder.
"Helga, come back to the room now." Mother said.
Helga nodded.
As she climbed the stairs down to the General room, she noticed her little sister and father standing nearby. Helga rushed over to them, and took her sister's hand.
Her sister's name was Nora, she was twelve years old, and she had beautiful blond curls that bounced down below her shoulders, but Mother made her wear it up in a bun everyday, just like Helga.

Right outside the door to their room, Helga noticed a young man smiling at her. She flashed a quick grin, and hurried in, before her mother saw her.

While Mother was sorting through their things, Helga asked to go back on deck. She hoped to see the young man again, who was smiling at her before.

Luckily, mother gave permission for Helga to go up on deck, and Nora scurried after her.

The two girls held hands, and rushed up the stairs to the general room, and up on deck.
The sun hit her face, and it felt amazing, like sweet candy hitting her all over.

Nora ran over to the railing, and stepped onto the first one. Helga rushed over to her side, and leaned over the railing.
The waves splashed, and Helga briefly saw a few fish, before they quickly disappeared under the splashing waves.

No sooner than minutes after, Helga heard Papa's loud footsteps come up the stairs from the General room.
"Helga!" His loud voice echoed from around the ship.
Helga swung her head back and looked at her father.
"It's lunch time." He said.
Helga tapped her sister on the shoulder, and the two girls quickly rushed back to their father.

As Helga and her family stepped into the dining room, her stomach growled. It smelled of fresh food, which Helga hadn't had since she could remember.
Her mother picked a place at a long table, where another mother and father were sitting with a little girl.

Helga's father picked up the menu, and showed Nora and Helga what was on it. The two of them decided to have pot roast.

It smelled so good as the waiter brought it to the table. Helga immediately ate it, with no time to spare.

The little girl looked up from her bowl of soup and smiled and waved at Helga. Helga smiled and waved back, and the little girl looked back down over her soup and giggled.

After dinner, Nora and Helga went back to the room for a few minutes to lay down. They were both tired after their long journey in the morning, trying to get to Southampton before it was too late, but luckily had made it on time.

After Supper, Mother and Father went back to their room, but Helga and Nora stayed down in the General room, while people danced to the music that was played around them.

After a while, Helga felt her own eyes getting droopy. She tapped Nora on the shoulder and told her it was time to go to bed.

The two of them slipped off their dresses and put on their nightgowns, and crawled under the warm bed covering. Helga had never been so cozy in her life, and she fell asleep right away.
