Kai is not the master of fire. He us the master of water. But, Kai is not the one that we all know. He was abused as a child by his and Nya's dad. Ray tried forcing Kai to be the master of fire but, Kai had long ago found his power.
Bound to a whee...
Dad wraps my wrists, third degree burns from getting electrocuted. My back is worse but only by appearance. I hear Lloyd on the monitor.
Rolling over, he smiles at me. "You better be home for dinner." I tell Lloyd. He salutes. "I will, love. Don't worry." He says. I smile and my wings twitch.
"Dad, mama, I'm heading to the house. I want some time with my kids." I tell. "Be safe son. And get some rest." Dad says.
Heading home, I run the tub and get in. Washing the babies, I place them in the crib. Laying down myself, I fall into a hard sleep.
Getting up later, I grab the bag for the triplets. Dressing them, I head for Brog tower. Coming in, I freeze when I see some nindroids. Turning, placing the babies in the slings, I take to the sky.
The ground rumbles, I look and see the worst. "I was trapped in Lord Garmadon, then I was trapped in the Digiverse. Now I am free! Bow to your Golden Master!" The Overlord said.
He sees me and I take to the sky at high speed. Heading outside the city, the Overlord tries to cut me off. Banking hard, barrel rolling, I get free.
I see five streaks, Lloyd appears on his golden bike. "Welcome home, Ninja." Wu says. "Brother, I can't remember the last time we fought together on the same team." Father says.
"I have the city in my sights." Zane says as I get closer. "City? That's not a city, that's an impenetrable fortress!" Jay says.
"Kai." Lloyd calls as I come to them. "I know, I just came from it." I say. I hover beside the gang. Dad, mom and uncle take the triplets. Cyrus comes up on the screens.
"Ninja, if you get this message, I've managed to escape and have found refuge within the Temple of Fortitude here in the city." Cyrus says.
Wu perks up. "Temple of Fortitude? That was left over from the Stone Wars. The Overlord used it as a stronghold against the power of the First Spinjitzu Master." He says in amazement.
"It has a sacred seal of protection that can resist the Golden Power. Very clever." I say. "Designed by the Overlord to prevent the combined powers of FSM and my ancestor from breaking in." I said.
"If you can make it here alive, I think I have a device that could defeat him." Cyrus tells us.
Lloyd nods, he looks at us. "Team, we have to get to that Temple. Everyone, stay together. Kai. You, Nya, Echo and Zane take the high road. We'll make our own road." I kiss Lloyd's lips, heading out.
Me and Nya stay together, Zane and Echo as well. Coming to the main square, I bank and Nya gets hit, trapped in her fighter. Breaking the lid off, I pick my sister up and make it to the temple as everyone bearly makes it.
Lloyd pulls me close, nuzzling my cheek and kissing my lips. "You said you had a weapon that could stop him?" Lloyd asks Cyrus.
Cyrus goes to a box, it opens. I lift a pill out. "It's just a pill." Jay said.
"Ah, not just any pill, a nano pill. For all of time, scientists have been searching for the holy grail of inventions. A diet pill that actually works!" Cyrus says.
Jay cocks an eye brow. Father pats his shoulder. "Wait until you are old, you'll see why it's so important. Tell me, Borg. Does it work?" Father asks.
Cyrus gets a look. "No. But the nanotechnology inside has an adverse effect. It not only shrinks your waistline, but miniaturizes you as well." He says.
I look at the pill. "Brother, do you remember when both of us were on the same team?" Father said.
Jay throws his hands up. "Uh, hey, yeah, old timers, mind paying attention? We're trying to save the world here!" He states.
Wu ignores Jay. "You're right, brother, on the playground when we were kids. Templegate Tigers." He said, placing his hand on Garmadon's shoulder.
Father returns the gesture. "Ha, I threw a mean curve ball, and your stick could thread the needle. We never lost." A smile bright in his eyes.
Wu nods. "So true." He turns to us. "Get us close, Ninja, and we'll give the Golden Master his medicine." Wu said.
We pull on armour, I take to the air. Giving cover, a tenden wraps around my leg. I hiss, but, the feeling is warm. A gold light shines from me, the tendons begin falling. The power circles me, I wrap my wings tight, barrel roll and slam into the Golden master. The Overlord stumbles, he falls to a knee.
Lloyd's p.o.v
Watching Kai slam into the Overlord, it brings pride that my husband is fighting beside me, and us. Uncle and dad hit the pill at the Overlord but Pythor swallows it and shrinks.
All of us but Zane, Echo and Kai are grabbed. Kai absorbs the tendons that come at hem. Soon, too many surround hem and form a cocoon. "Nooooooo." I yell.
Zane lowers his mask "Support me, friends, for one last time." We flip upside down, Zane jumps over us and grabs the golden armour. "Let my friends go!" Zane says.
We watch as Zane sacrifices himself to protect us. A golden light explodes from the cocoon and Kai is hovering in the sky, he's different. Kai forms an energy blast, shooting it and it slams into the Overlord as Zane uses his ice on the Overlord as well.
Wu and dad force us into a manhole and the city is rocked. We come out, I look for Kai. His wings beats sound, Kai lowers to the ground. Holding himself up, I slide to hem and hug Kai.
"I tried." Kai holds the piece of Zane's face place. I hold my husband close as we bow our heads to our fallen brother.
A few days later at Zane's funeral, Cyrus unveils the Titanium Ninja in Zane's honor. Kai is asked to speek.
He rolls up in his wheelchair. "I didn't know Zane as long as the others did. Hell, a year ago I was still afraid to even be around people other than my sister. Bit, after I met the ninja that Nya was apart of, my shield started breaking.
"Everyone wondered what powered Zane. I don't know if we'll ever know, but I'd like to think it was brotherhood. Because he powered me. And he'll still power me as his memory lives on. Ninja never quit, and Ninja will never be forgotten. Wherever you are, Zane, you'll always be one of us." Kai says.
I walk up, kissing Kai as the others join us. It soon begins to snow and we all now, Zane's still here. Echo looks fown, Kai places a hand on his shoulder. "Your more than welcome to stay at our place." Kai said.
Echo looks at me and I smile, nodding. We head home.
Laying on the bed, I trace Kai's new ears, they twitch as Kai swats my hand away. Kissing his cheek, I turn in with Kai right along with me.
'Be safe Zane, I hope we meet again some day.' I think.
