Author's note:
I just noticed that y'all have been skipping chapter 11 :/. The reads there are lesser than the others so yeah... It's okay, it happens to me sometimes. And sorry for the looooong time I kept you waiting... It's just some minor difficulties.
-Damien's POV-

"Do you still hear it?"

We are in the tunnel, the only source pf light is the tiny flames flickering in my hands. the 4th left turn and the 2nd right turn. I've been counting the directions since we entered a smaller tunnel. Since then, the tunnels never went back to it's normal size. We still had to crawl to got through.

The screaming that we heard has stopped now.

It was eerily silent.

"Damien, look at this... Do you see it?" Cole pointed at a trapdoor. Thick dust covered it, like almost all of our surroundings.

If you dont look closely, you wont notice it.  "Put out your flames. It might burn the wood. We also dont know what's under there, so you better put that out," Cole whispered. "And help me open this."

"Umm..." He's right of course. But...

I looked at my burning hand, and then to Cole. "I... Dont know how...?"

It sounded like a question.

"Wha-- Damien, not in a time like this!" Cole almost shouted at my face.

"Huh?! It's my first time doing this, how would  know?" I said.

"Then concentrate."

I did what he said, concentrate. I imagined the flames going out, but it didnt work. This time, I closed my eyes, and concentrated more.

Flames, flames, flames, and then cold.  The time when I got lost in the woods. When it was cold.

I felt the flames slowly flicker out as i opened my eyes.

"Let's go."

Together, we opened the trap door. The inside was just plain dark. No light. There was also no sound.

"And for the second time, we go down." I sighed. "After you."

"Shouldn't we make a plan first?" Cole said.

"Yeah sure, you go first, silently. Then I go, silently. And we find out whatever's in there," I said before pushing him in.

Good thing he listened to me. He did go silently.

I listened for a thud, or any sign of sound. Nothing. The silence was killed when I heard my name being called.

"Damien?" Cole said. "I'll get you for that, but not now."

I almost bumped my head when i felt his hand touch mine that was holding the wooden trapdoor.

"It's not even deep, you asshole," he said. "I bumped my fricking head on the floor."

I chuckled a little before summoning my flames. I shone it to the hole, but it didnt even illuminate anything there.

"Don't jump, you might injure your legs."

"Wait."

I held out my hand to the darkness and it instantly disappeared. I pulled it back, and thankfully, my hand was still there.

"Here I come."
