She stood at the back of the cemetery, hidden slightly behind an old, oak tree as she watched the ceremony. Words were spoken to the group of people standing around the casket that was soon to be lowered into the ground. People who she had spent most of her life with, were crying over the person who had lived only to die too young. She watched as a young woman stepped forward and placed a small bundle of wisteria flowers on the casket before turning to the rest of the group to talk.

"Raven was an amazing person, sister, lover, and much more. May her soul rest in the protected lands of our ancestors." The woman took a small step back so the casket could be lowered.

The girl from behind the tree stepped back and lit a cigarette as she walked away from the life she once lived. She was ready to start anew in a different place with new people.

Once and for all.
