Medeis(메데이스) is a multinational girl group formed by SM Entetainment. The group debuted on July 6, 2017 with their first mini-album "Sunny Summer". Originally an eight-piece group, Medeis currently consists of six members: Yoojung, Aera, Sori, Luminé, Renge, and Maxime. Former member Lili left the group in mid-2019 and terminated her exclusive contract with the agency due to personal reasons, while Sooyoung left on January 2020 due to health issues. On October 26, 2019, the group signed with the US label Maverick Agency.
On July 2021, Medeis underwent an indefinite hiatus. The group made their first comeback on October 12, 2022, almost a year after the start of their hiatus, with their sixth mini album "I Never Die" with the title track "Tomboy". Yoojung was temporarily absent from the group for the entire 2022, but rejoined the group in 2023. On December 20, 2023, Aera announced that she will be temporarily halting activities, thus the group will be promoting as five for the time being once again.
