He tried to excuse himself and get the hell out of there but the family wouldn't hear of it. Fifteen minutes later a young man came rushing into the room.
"Lotts? What happened? Is she okay?"Harry stared at the young man with his mouth open. Was this Louis? He was absolutely gorgeous. He had the same blue eyes as his sister, but his was even bluer. He was small and petit but very manly with a three days stubble on his cheeks and his featherlight brown hair was in a neat quiff. Harry could feel his cock twitch in his pants. Hey, he was bisexual and Louis was absolutely stunning.
Jay told Louis what had happened and Harry met Louis's beautiful eyes when the man looked at him.
"Who are you?"Shit! Harry started to stutter and Jay came and put an arm around Harry's shoulders.
"This is Harry, Lotties fiance."Louis wrinkled his eyebrows in confusion.
"Fiance? Bullshit!""When was the last time you talked to Lottie?" Dan questioned.
Louis scratched the back of his neck.
"Ehm, a couple of months ago.""Really Boobear? You both live here in London. You're supposed to look after her." Jay said, sounding upset.
"Yeah, well, you know Lottie mum. She doesn't want me to butt into her life." Louis muttered.
He was eyeing Harry curiously.
"Harry was it? Are you a model?"Harry blushed crimson red.
"Ehm, definitely not. I work at the subway station.""Really? And you're engaged to Lottie? That doesn't sound like her. No offense Harry, but she usually goes for the rich and stupid guys." Louis muttered, still looking at him suspiciously.
Harry just shrugged his shoulders in response. Louis's features soften and he took a step closer and extended a hand for Harry to shake.
"Maybe she changed. It's nice to meet you, Harry. I'm Louis, Lotties older brother."Harry took Louis's hand and shook it. He almost jumped back when he felt the electricity of touching Louis's hand run through him. Louis seemed surprised as well and looked down on their hands before he let go. He mumbled a "fuck" and turned to the hospital bed instead.
"What do the doctors say?"Harry listened faintly to Jay's explanation about Lottie's condition. He felt so bad for them all. They seemed like a really sweet family and that made him miss his own family. His mum died a couple of years ago. His sister was living in France and he never talked to his dad. He'd been here for five years and hadn't made a single friend. He was very lonely. He noticed that everybody was looking at him.
"Huh?"Louis rolled his eyes at him playfully.
"We're gonna go and eat something. Mum asked you to come with us so we can get the chance to get to know you."Harry dragged a hand through his curls nervously. Louis's eyes followed his motion and he visibly gulped.
"Ehm, that's so kind of you but I don't want to intrude.""Don't be silly sweetie. I would like to get to know the man who's marrying my daughter. I won't take no for an answer." Jay smiled and motioned for him to come with them.
Yeah, there was no getting out of this one. Harry felt stupid. He should just tell them the truth but he didn't want them to get angry at him. A family dinner sounded so nice. He walked out of the room without saying anything. He was such a bad person.
They found a restaurant a couple of blocks away and managed to get a table that fit them all. Harry was seated between Louis and his sister Fizzie. He listened to the conversation between the family members.
"So are you dating anyone, Louis?" Jay asked with a smile.Louis rolled his eyes at his mum.
"No mum.""Maybe you know someone nice that our Louis could take out on a date." Jay saìd to Harry.
Louis snorted and Harry gave him a quick glance.
"Ehm, I don't know what kind of girls Louis likes."Everyone around the table started to laugh. Great, what did he say now that was that funny?
"I'm Gay mate." Louis smirked.Fuck! He was gay? No, no, not good. Harry froze and stared at Louis who wrinkled his brows and stared back at him.
"Don't tell me you have a fucking problem with that?" Louis huffed.Harry's eyes grew wide and he looked around at everyone.
"What? No! Of course not! I'm bi myself." Harry hurried to explain.Louis drew in a sharp breath and Harry could hear him mutter "fuck, not good."
Harry shook his head to clear his mind.
"Ehm, well, I don't know what kind of men you prefer then.""I like blondes with long hair and a lot of muscles. Yep." Louis muttered.
Fizzie started to laugh.
"No, you don't! Why are you lying, Lou? You like brunettes, and you have a thing for curly hair, and oh..." Fizzie looked at Harry and grinned.Harry blushed. He was Louis type?
"Ehm, I don't really know anyone here so I can't help you out Louis, sorry.""Don't be. I don't wanna date anyone." Louis answered. His cheeks had a rosy touch after Fizzies revelation.
"Tell us about how you and Lottie met each other." Jay asked.
Fuck! Harry tried to think about something to say. He couldn't believe he was lying to all of them about this. He was so going to hell.
"Well eeh, as I said before, I work at the subway. Lottie always takes the 3.18 train on the blue line on Thursdays. I thought the was really pretty and one day I asked her out on a date and ehm, that was it."God, that was so fucking lame.
"And that was like two months ago and now you're engaged?" Louis questioned, sounding skeptical."I know it's fast but when you know, you know." Harry answered and locked eyes with Louis.
"Maybe, but I still have a hard time believing that Lotts would say yes to a date with someone who works at a subway station, no matter how good-looking you are." Louis answered.
Harry felt irritated.
"So what that I work at a subway station? It's a job like any other job."Louis held his hands up in surrender.
"Hey, I'm not a snob. I don't care about what you do for a living. A job is a job. But I know for a fact that Lottie does so I'm just a little surprised.""Louis, don't talk about your sister like that. Clearly Harry is a wonderful young man, I'm sure she saw that as well." Jay protested.
"Come on mum! I love Lottie, you know that, but she's shallow and that whole influencer thing? Is that even a job? Harry here has a real job, I respect him for that." Louis huffed.
What the hell was an influencer? Harry was confused but he felt like he had to stand up for his 'fiance'.
"Lottie works hard as well."Louis rolled his eyes at him.
"Whatever."Later that night Harry had a hard time falling asleep. He was tossing and turning in bed. He sighed and got up and pulled on some sweats and a hoodie. He grabbed his car keys and headed for the hospital. He didn't know why really. He wanted to explain to Lottie why he lied about them even if she wouldn't hear him.
