I: [ secret × steak house ]

Zaban city's absolute delicacy! The Southern Sea King cuisine! Freshly caught from Dole Harbour! The only chef in the world that could ever cook someone so delicious from such a beast is none other than the chef hidden behind the scenes of the secret restaurant! A steak house I think it was?!

"Or at least I think that was it was called..." I mutter to myself as I peer over the docks. I am currently at Dole Harbor and was hoping to catch a bus to Zaban City to get a taste of the delicacy of the Southern Sea King, unfortunately, I have missed the bus and decided to head there on foot.

Ah! Forget the Southern Sea King! I just need some food of any sort right about now...

I pause and take a deep breath before pulling out my phone and checking my GSP. I frown with a deep sigh.

5kms to go before I reach the city, if I keep at it at this pace, I'll probably take 3 hours.

I put my phone away and stretch a little bit before heading down the road.

This isn't right... 

I frown as I stop and look around me. All trees and a dirt road. I pull my phone out again and check my GPS.

Wait a damn minute.

I my eyes travel to the top right of my phone and I groan.

Of course, my fucking phone had to be out of reach and my location had been in the same spot for the past 3 hours! Wait-

I look down at my phone.

Service...? If I've been going at a moderate pace for 3 hours, I've should've reached Zaban by now, but-

I look up and try to spot the big city, no avail.

I'm lost...

I tuck my phone back in my bag.

"Ah!" A scream fills my ears and on instinct my feet dash towards the sound.

A magical beast?! Near human civilisation...no, something is wrong, this forest that is a crossing between Zaban and Dole Habor, many humans use it so not many magical beast come near it, unless-

I stop as I look up at the scene before me.

"Let go of her this instant!" I yell pointing at a man in his late 20's holding onto the hand of a woman.

"You're just a kid, what can you do? Join her?" He snickers. In a flash I jump and uppercut his jaw with my knee.

"This kid just knocked you down." I huff as he stands up on his knees with a scrunching face.

"Little brat." He mutters angrily. He stands up and aims for a punch, I tilt my head to the side and I grab his hand next to my head and pull him down, giving him another bone crushing knee attack to his ribs. He spits out some blood before passing out. I throw him on to the ground and smile at the woman.

"It's alright now Miss!" I smile as I offer her a hand. She was pretty, short brown wavey hair and lime green eyes.

"T-thank you.."She takes my hand as another scream echoes throughout the forest, this time more manly. She gasps at the sound.

Another attacker? What is their objective?

I let go of her hand.

"Wait here." I tell her before dashing off into the direction of the sound.

Was leaving her back there a bad idea...?
