Gulf stared at him. Mew stared deep down. "I don't get what you mean, Your Highness." Gulf replied.

"Never mind." Mew said. "From now on, this is your room, your chamber. You're not allowed to leave your room unless I told you. There'll be guards standing outside your room so try your luck to run away." Mew added. He then walked out of the room, leaving Gulf flattered. As soon as the door is closed, Gulf kneel down, losing all of his energy. His mind is full of thoughts. He can't think. He can't breathe. He wonder if he regret his actions? He wonder if what he did is right? To save his father? He then squeeze himself as he looked down, crying. He didn't realised that he spend so much energy crying that he slept in that position.

"Sire, don't you think that you're a little bit rough on that young man?" Mild asked, his right-hand servant. "What do you mean?" Mew asked as he remove the pins on the clothes that he wearing. He pass his neck-tie to his servants as Mild stood still with the other servants behind him. "That I kept him there?" Mew added.

"Yes, Sire." Mild replied.

Mew then remove the mask that covered his left side of the face, revealing a long scar from his nose to his left brow. A healed scar but a permanent on his face. "I believe that's where he shall be. A perfect spot for him. He'll be thankful that I never let him rot to death in the basement like how I did to the others." Mew said.

"Go out. Leave me alone." Mew chased them out. They bowed before they left. Mew opened the window as the wind blows and his hair flew everywhere.

"Only true love can heal your heart."

That sentence. The sentence that was repeated daily. It's some sort of mantra. It keep replaying in his head. He sighed. He smell the air before closing the window and sat on the couch as he read a book about fate. About love between monsters and humans. He'd spend most of his time reading and read. Either, he'd be at the training grounds and practise martial arts, spears fighting, swords fighting, archery, horse-back riding.

Mew got out of his chambers and walk towards Gulf's chamber who is few rooms down the hall. His servants closely followed behind. The two guards who are guarding Gulf's room greeted Mew. "Your Highness." they spoke. "Did he try to leave?" Mew asked. They shook his head. He gently knock the door and no response, hence, he walked in. He sees Gulf sleeping in the same position where he left him before. He walk to Gulf and he gently carried him up and gently put him on the bed. He then pull up the covers. He opened the windows, letting fresh air comes in. He sat across the room as he stared at Gulf who is soundly asleep.

"Should I get you some tea, your Highness?" asked the servant. Mew nodded. The servant left. Mew walk towards Gulf and sat on the bed as he caress Gulf's face. His nose. His eyes. It's perfection. He stared closely and he reminds him of his former lover, his wife. And then Gulf opened his eyes and both of them stare at each other. Mew seems puzzled. "I'm sorry. You were asleep on the floor so I got you up on bed. I'm sorry." Mew apologised. Mew was about to leave when his hands were grab by Gulf. Gulf grab his hand and Mew looked at him. "He's crying?" Mew thought to himself.

"Why are you crying?" Mew asked. Gulf bit his lips. "I can't sleep alone. I have a fear of the dark."

"What?" Mew replied.  He doesn't seems to believe what the young man said. Scared of the dark? What? Him? Why?

"I'm scared of the dark. I'm scared to sleep alone in the dark." Gulf said, with his pleading look. Mew arched his eyebrow. "But that's okay, it's rude of me to ask a royal to sleep with his prisoner. I'm sorry." Gulf apologised letting his hand go.

Mew sighed. "Alright. I'll stay. But before that, we need to eat. Your stomach is grumbling. Come, get up."
