Man Proposes, God disposes.

The children were unruly again.

The four year olds were gathered around a chair where a boy, the oldest one at five sat throwing a bottle in the air and trying to make it land on its head. This was to no avail but when luck prevailed, the children gave a whoop and clapped their hands, laughing.

Biodun knew the trend, it was something she saw on social media, some getting it and most failing woefully. She knew it wasn't a skill thingy, it was all on luck. She was sure the kid had a brother who he had watched doing it and so decided to come show off to the other kids. Anyone looking at the view would have smiled and let the children continue their little play but not Biodun, she promptly called the teacher to attention about the noise and the kids went back to their seats a bit sad.

Biodun didn't like children, to her, they were little annoying beings who had no respect for elders, never took to instructions, begged for attention, and cried everytime. As she was surrounded by children, she had to tolerate it but as a Principal, that didn't mean she had to close eyes to disturbance from kids.

Married for 7 years to a loving husband,  one would expect the couple's house to be populated with children but they had no kids. Biodun had a dark secret, in a bid bid not to have children had hatched a plan with an health worker who had forged a document for her stating nothing was wrong with her but she had issues with getting pregnant.

To make the story valid, once in three months,  she went to the hospital to get injected with birth control. This had worked for her and she had never failed to miss it. She also had to send in money to the health worker so her secret wouldn't be let out.

Her husband, Femi had sympathised with her and because of the great love he had for her, he didn't divorce her or have an affair out of his marriage. He was also constant in fasting and praying for her barrenness, he loved children and constantly prayed for a miracle.

Weeks later,  she had to travel out of the country for a two-month  seminar and the stress she faced couldn't allow her come back into the country and make her appointment   It was also not easy getting one over where she was as it was a strange place so she had to wait. As it was the first time they had been separated since they married, Femi was so anxious for her return and  when she did,  they had intercourse that night. She had no excuse and couldn't say no to him.

When she was abroad,  her appointment was due for over a month so the next morning,  she quickly rushed down to the health center and got injected. After a month,  she began to feel nauseous, not active and feeling tired even after 8 hours of sleep.

She went to another health facility,  explained to the doctor and some investigations were written for her to carry out, one been  pregnancy test. Then she was advised to go home, take some rest and come back the next day so as to review her on the results of the investigation. Getting there,  she was congratulated by the doctor and found out that she was pregnant. The shock left her speechless.

Femi getting to know couldn't hold his joy and  proclaimed it a miracle for all to hear. Biodun believed in taking responsibility for whatever actions anyone took so she brushed off abortion off the list, put up a cheerful face on  for all to see but within her, a box of annoyance and sadness was already open.

Miracle indeed.
