It was Saturday. The last four days had been fucking me up really bad. After what all Marcy and I did, I feared that she would take up stupid actions on herself and get hurt. Whatever she did, notwithstanding that, I needed to be sure about her being fine. Afterall, she was my best friend. I decided to talk to her and sort out the mess that was created.
After having lunch, I decided to pay a visit to Marcy's house.
At about 4:00 pm, I went to meet Marcy. I lived just two blocks away, so I had not much time on the way, to think about what I would say to her. I had not thought at all about how to approach her, too stupid of me. As I reached closer to her house, my fingers started becoming numb, and multiple thoughts started to invade my mind. Fuck! Things would get even more complicated.
As I reached the main gate of Marcy's house, I decided to call her up once. No sooner had I taken out my phone, than I got hit by a light, ball like thing. I got starteled. I looked back and saw no one. O bent down and found that it was a piece of paper, crumpled into a ball. I picked it up and started looking around cautiously. Who could it be? I kept searching for the culprit for the next couple of minutes, but managed to find none. With trembling fingers and uneasy mind, I started opening up the paper with great care. I found a note written in it. It said:
Missing Jennifer still, right? And love her still right? Aww Mr hotshot! Her memories will haunt you forever....
- yours 'someone'
XOXOWhat the fuck! Could life just stop messing around with me?! Break up, fights, fucked up nights, Marcy, suspicious notes!! What could be next? A crowbar coming and hitting me on the head perhaps! And as for Jennifer, I missed her like anything, and loved her too, because I was a bloody stupid. But someone dared to ask that by a seemingly 'CLASSY' suspicious note. Could I get some peace in my mind on earnest requests?!
I tore the note and disposed it in the nearby trash can. I could deal with only one thing at a time, and Marcy seemed way more important than a stupid note. Moreover, I wasn't interested in dealing with someone who had no guts to walk up to me and say things on my face.
I didn't call Marcy, it was already getting late perhaps. I entered the main gate, crossed the pathway on the garden, built up some courage, and pressed the doorbell. Within a minute Marcy appeared on the door. We stood there standing and staring at each other, like idiots, for a couple of minutes. I was feeling hell of an awkward shit. She finally broke the silence,"What's up? Mr hotshot!"
She was so fluent!
"I'm.... Fine.... What about you?"
Yeah I always had stupid stutters while being nervous.
"Sort of. Come inside."
That 'sort of' made me realize that things weren't fine.
"Where's your mom?" I asked.
"She's out, shopping." She replied.Fuck! That meant we were alone.
"I'm so sorry for what all I said that day. Forgive me if you can." I was genuinely sad while apologizing.
"Oh no! It's okay, I was being stupid maybe." She said shyly. She was emotional.
"Is all fine Marcy? Don't bottle up please." I requested.
"Yup I'm fine...... Except for this." She laughed and pulled down the neck of her T-shirt.
Damn! There was a huge scar on the upper chest. Close to her left collarbone!
I stood up. That really pissed me off.
"Are you really out of your stupid mind!! How could you do that!! I'm just done with you now Marcy." I shouted at her.
She stood up, and wanted to say something, but she broke down. She was completely shaken at my words.
