I turned the page of my newest novel. It was such excellent material. Each page leaked and oozed the romance that every single girl craved in her life. It was so refreshing. It was riveting. I loved living my life through a character that gets to experience all her romance at once with the best guy ever. It was a fairytale.
"Nix. Come on! Don't want to be late for class do we?" Adelphi called from downstairs.
My room mate really was something. This year is our last year of academy and we're off starting our beautiful careers full time. Luckily we were advanced in our studies or this wouldn't exactly be a possible task a hand.
I dropped my book and watched as it hit my white devut covering. Winter was approaching the corner and it was exactly what I was looking forward to. Well, of course I needed to finish autumn first. Then with autumn comes schooling.. Speaking of...
"Coming Del. I'll be down in a minute!" I called thru the cherry wood door.
"Hurry! I want to meet up with Anthony before hand!" She laughed followed by a thud. "I'm okay!"
I laughed to myself. She was always a klutz. Whether it was running into a wall or running into a window or merely tripping over air, she always found a way to fall. Oh Adelphi. Can't live with her, can't live without her.
I smiled into the bathroom mirror I found myself standing in front of. Today was a new day and that means a new romance adventure. I smiled again and giggled in front of the mirror. I can't help I'm hopeless when it comes to this stuff. I pulled at my messy dark auburn hair trying to make it form one way or another. In the end I pulled it up into a pony tail leaving my bangs out. I picked up several bobby pins and pinned up the under side of my hair, it had a tendency to fall at parts of the day. Once I was satisfied with the reflection I skipped back to the bedroom. I opened up my closet the ranged in garments from "rocker chick" to "hobo that lives under a bridge." When the door swung open I grabbed my outfit for the day. A pair of dark washed jeans, a white v-neck t-shirt, and a comfortable leather jacket over it all. Due to the weather, I threw on a scarf and a pair of black riding boots. I was very comfortable for today for sure.
"Nix! You aren't going to find a prince charming up in your room! Hurry!" Aldephi called from the stairs.
"I won't find a prince just walking down the street either Del!" I laughed and hurried down the stairs.
Aldephi laughed as I made my way down to her and grabbed the keys to go out.
The winter air hit my face as I stepped onto the snow-covered sidewalk. The snow cracked below my feet as I speed-walked out to the car. I found it rather quickly parked in the usual parking spot. I quickly opened the door and started it up so the heater could hit me full on. Aldephi came in shortly after and she shivered from the lack of heat outside.
"Okay, class time. Let's go!" She said buckling her seatbelt.
"You mean make-out with Anthony time Del?" I laughed and reversed the car.
"Aren't they the same thing?"
"You don't get a grade for making out with your boyfriend doofus."
"He gives me points though." She winked over at me.
"TOO MUCH DEL." I laughed and turned up the street towards the road that'll take us to campus.
Aldephi and Anthony have been dating for a while now. About a little over a year to be precise. They have the cliché love story of most college people around here. Aldephi went out to get a coffee on a cold afternoon after class alone since I stayed inside to browse my blog and various shopping websites. She walked into the place and a cute guy was seated in a nearby table that caught her eye. She bought the coffee, sparing one last glance at the guy, and he wasn't there. She huffed and walked towards the door with two coffees in hand (such a great friend right?). Next thing she knows, he's opening the door for her and asking her name. One question led to a name, to a date, to a period of no communication, to a party, to a jealous Anthony asking her to be his. It was quite cute if I do say so myself. I mean, it was what almost any girl could imagine.
I sighed. Her and Anthony were like the perfect couple. He's the Prince Charming to her Cinderella, the Prince Phillip to her Sleeping Beauty, the Flynn Rider to her Rapunzel. It's like a fairytale.
Well, if this was a fairytale or anything like that, then it would really suck to be myself. I'd be the little friend to the princess that's important one moment then it's like the story just skips over and moves on. Of course Snow White never forgot about the dwarves but do you see any of them getting their way with another person? Nope. But if this was a Disney story, then ever girl is a princess and every girl will eventually find her prince. No matter what. He could be a frog, a beast, or a peasant. Eventually everyone falls in love. How cute.
"Nix, you spaced out again!"
"It's not my fault."
"Yes it is!"
"Shut up! We're here! GET OUT." I laughed and swung the door open to wait for Del.
She got out and her hair blew in the slight wind. She looked stunning. She walked off and seconds later waved franctically at somebody. I assumed it was Anothony. I caught up with her and as I guessed Anthony was already attached to her. Literally. He waved and I nodded at him.
We got along just fine, I just didn't really care for him. I always got an off vibe from him, but for Adelphi's sake I never made a huge deal about it. I mean, what does a blogger really know anyways?
I took off as they went off on another make-out session and went to go get some coffee before my first class.
I walked into the little shop and ordered a Carmel Apple Cider blend from the menu. I looked around as they made my order and noticed a very attaractive boy standing against the far wall. I cocked my head to side and looked at him. The brewista called me out of my trance and handed me my drink. I glanced quickly over to the side where the guy stood except he seemed to of have disappeared. I shrugged and walked out the doors.
Outside the wind picked up a little bit then settled back down. The scent from my coffee engulfed my sense of smell. I took a drink and pulled at my jacket with the other hand. I was enjoying the scenery when a hand jolted out and grabbed my waist back.
I squeaked and quickly turned face to face with a pair of stunning deep mocha eyes.
"You almost ran into the street light." His voice was euphoric. I insantly relaxed.
"Oh. That would've been embarassing." I half smiled. "Thanks."
"No problem. What's your name klutz?" He smirked.
"Excuse me?" I raised my eye brow.
"What's your name?" The melodic voice asked again.
"Nix, yours?" I asked.
"Talen." He said removing the hand from my waist that I totally forgot about to shake my hand.
I blushed and gave him my hand but he didn't shake it. He brought it up to his full lips and kissed it softly. And then brought it back down.
"Pleasure to meet you." He winked and suddenly walked off towards one of the buildings.
"The pleasure's all mine..." I weakly said to myself. I looked in his direction and he turned around meeting my eyes.
He smirked and signaled me to call him. Confused I cocked my head at him. He chuckled and walked off. I put my hand, that wasn't holding my coffee, into my pocket to get my phone and pulled out a little slip of paper...
