Keeping myself busy outside of work has always been a hard thing for me, so with this impromtu day off I had no idea how to spend my time. My apartment is clean...ish, I've finished all of the things Carter had asked me to do before she left and all of my friends are at work.

I check my watch as I exit the building, 11:25. I guess I could stop for lunch but I'm not one to sit and eat by myself, so takeout seems reasonable. I head towards one of my favorite Italian restaurants where I'm known by my first name, which now that I think about should be embarrassing but to me it isn't. Pasta is just so fucking good.

It only takes me fifteen minutes to walk there and as I open the door I hear the familiar chime of the bell above me. The employee working at the counter looks up as I move towards him, giving him a polite smile.

"Sutton! It's been a while... What? Three days?" He says with humor behind his voice and a small chuckle.

Cameron has always seemed to take a liking towards me since I ordered here the first time a few years ago. His ashy blue eyes crinkling at the corners whenever I see him, sometimes being two to three times a week. He has a sense of warmness that radiates off of him and I'm sure all of their customers can see that. He's wearing the same thing he always is, a fitted black t-shirt with the name of the restaurant printed over his heart, Carbone's.

When Andrew and I came here for the first time together, he said his 'gay-dar' wasn't going off, which he was extremely disappointed about. Since then, we've asked him to join us in going out a few times, which he has. He's a great addition to our friends and meshed with them instantly.

I make small talk with him after ordering my usual, penne vodka which is a staple in my diet. When my food is ready we bid each other goodbye and I'm right back out into the city air with my takeout bag in my hand, heading towards my apartment building.

After scarfing my food down in my empty apartment, I go back and forth between re-organizing my closet and watching Silver Linings Playbook, one of my all time favorite movies. Time passes by slower than I had hoped before my obnoxious roommate is finally off of work.

I guess he wasn't expecting to see me because as he walks in and finds me standing in the kitchen with a glass of water in my hand, all of the items he was juggling in his hands are now on the floor and he shrieks so loud I think my ears may just fall off.

"Holy fucking shit Sut, what the fuck are you doing home?" He's still trying to catch his breath as his hand is covering his chest, probably trying to slow his heart rate.

"Holy shit you should've seen your face! That was fucking priceless." In a fit of laughter at my best friends expense, I respond to his question. "Carter's replacement sent me home early. Apparently he doesn't 'need an assistant.'"

"Carter left already? I thought she was only like two months pregnant," He looks at me in disbelief before I explain that she literally just had her child. "Wait, you said he. Is he hot? Is he gay? Please tell me he's gay. I'd love to have a photographer boyfriend."

"I literally know nothing about him," I say after I roll my eyes at what I would explain as Andrew's script every time I mention someone of the male gender. "I went in and finished up the stuff from last week and asked him if he wanted me to get him lunch and he literally just told me to leave."

"Well that's weird. Who the fuck wouldn't want someone who's job is to basically wipe their ass?" He says and my instant reaction is to swat at his arm. "Jesus, okay sorry, I know you do much much more than that Sut."

I check the time on the microwave and it's around 6 pm. "We should start getting ready if we're going to Markie's. What time is everyone meeting us there?"
