As John walked he dragged me along with him. Millions of questions filled my mind "Why was he bringing me here? What we're those things everyone was crowding around? Where's Nick and is he worried about me? What's up with John?"
As we got closer to the building there was a table. A old lady was sitting at the table reading a book when we approached.
"Oh, hello John! And I see you have brought a friend!" John nodded and smiled "What's your name hun?" I rolled my eyes. Did she really expect me to talk with rope in my mouth? John looked at the lady and said,
"This is Amanda, my daughter." I hated when John called me his daughter. It made me feel like he owned me.
The old lady smiled, "Ahh... yes. Amanda. She will be great for the Radiors." I acted normal until I heard "Radiors." What the heak is a Radior? The old lady grabbed my wrist and put a stamp on it.
"Right this way honey." Her breath was like moldy bread. But. There was no way I was going to go in this strange building with John and strange things called Radiors. I lifted my fist up and punched the old lady. I was surprised John wasn't holding my arms.
Before John could hurt me I kicked him where it counts. Sweet revenge. I grabbed the keys out of Johns hand while he layed on the ground, grunting. He tryed to yell but the pain filled his voice with more grunting. I yanked off the rope and ran to the car.
I had went to drivers Ed but John would never let me get my lisence. I only had a permit which was not in the car. I started the engine. I glanced out the window to see John still on the ground and the old lady trying to clean up her own blood.
I felt bad for punching her but I had to do it. There was no way of telling what was going to happen to me if I didn't. The wheels of the car moved me. I started down the winding road whitch we came down on. I wasn't sure even where I was going but at least I was getting away from John.
I had driven for 30 minutes when I saw the sign that lead into the city. 35 miles. I knew how to read the signs so I could get back. I started to think about the Radiors. What were they? Did they have anything to do with the strange things that just happend?
As I got into my home town there was nothing. No cars. No sound. No people. I stopped the car. Usually it was pretty busy. I unfastened my seatbelt. When I touched the handle to open the door the feeling of uneasiness came. When I saw the figure of a boy running towards me I jumped. It was Nick. I took a sigh of relief as I opend the door.
"No! Stay in the car!" He yelled. I had just barley closed the door when he got in the passenger seat. Man, did he run fast! "Drive!" I gave him the puzzled look. "Go! Hurry! Turn around!" I did exactly what he said. After 5 minutes we had driven deeper into the city when I said.
"What were u running from?" He looked me in the eye.
"Radiors."
