I tried to ignore them, I knew they didn't want me in their big family, I was a stranger even to my own mother. She didn't know anything about me, nor did I know anything about her.

I couldn't stop looking at them, they were so close, yet so far away from my reach. Their happy smiles and hearty laughter filled the big room, with them inside it looked rather small.

The twins clinged to her sides, as the triplets told her about what had happened when she was gone, they made her laugh so much... A sound I'd never gotten to hear, until now. The older brothers seemed to be fighting on who would give her the present first. It was a welcome party for my mother, I was never included.

"Boys! Listen up," the man, whose name I still didn't know, spoke. "There's something important we want to tell you," he looked at his boys affectionately, I want my mother to look at me that way.

I looked away, "You too Calla, you're family now," his words hit a sore point, I was not their family, I couldn't even consider myself as my mother's family. My mother had never regarded me as such, and I knew they would never do so.

I bit my lips to stop the grimace. I walked towards the big sofa located in the middle of the living room. But when I was about to sit down, someone held me down by the shoulders. I looked at the person holding me down, Damon.

"There's no space for you here," although he hadn't specified where, I knew he meant there was no space for me anywhere in their family. The warning in his eyes was clear, that I should become accustomed to not being a part of this family.

I nodded slightly and sat down on the floor, it stung. It didn't matter how many times I wished for a family, there was no way a mistake like myself would ever get something to be a part of.

"Now that we have your attention," the man began, he didn't say anything about the interaction Damon and I had just had. I figured he also didn't want anything to do with me, he just wanted his boys and my mother. I was never considered in anyone's plan.

"The wedding is scheduled for next week," he grabbed my mother by the waist, they looked like a loving couple. "We will also be having our honeymoon after the wedding ceremony. We will be gone only for a week at most, we expect all of you to be on your best behavior." He sounded stern, his eyes were looking at the twins warningly.

"Dad, we're always on our best behavior," one of the twins replied mockingly. I doubt it. They were not angels, their heated glares were enough for me to understand that. I'd received this kind of glares all my life.

"You're funny Fin, now, show Calla to her new room." I had stopped paying attention to their conversation until I heard my name being called. Finley looked at me with a murderous gaze, telling me to refuse.

"I-" I stopped, I wasn't even sure of what to say to make my new father let me find my room on my own. "I can look for it on my own..." But he dismissed me. He was not going to accept no for an answer.

"Now, Grey and Fin are going to show you to your new room," he smiled at me. "The house is big and you're still not familiar with it, I don't want you to get lost."

I hadn't thought about that, the house was indeed so big I was sure I'd get lost somewhere. It didn't bother me much though, I thought it was a good idea to get to explore my new home on my own. But my musings stopped when I was grabbed by both arms and dragged out.

One of the twins let go of my arm while the other one guided, or well, dragged me by the arm. His grip was strong, it looked like he intended for it to hurt... it did. I was sure to be left with a bruise later on.

"I can't believe mom brought you with her," his grip on my arm became stronger. "I thought she would put you up for adoption or leave you there." His words hurt, I knew they didn't want me here, but knowing and being told that were two different things. I didn't want to hear it from any of their mouths. I also couldn't believe my mother had thought of putting me up for adoption.

I wanted to cry, but I'd been doing that lately too much. I couldn't let myself cry in front of them, I wouldn't.

"I'm sure mom knew nobody would adopt her, I mean," the one in front of me turned around to look at me, his eyes scanning me from bottom to top. "Look at her, she's so fat and not even pretty."

The two of them started laughing, I felt that if I didn't get to my room soon, I'd start crying.

"You're right Fin, she's so ugly! I couldn't believe mom when she told us this fat monster was her daughter." Monster? Was I that disgusting?

"Right! She doesn't deserve to be called by her name," the looked at me maliciously. Here we go again. Will there ever be a time when I'll be called by my own name?

"Oh! We can call her Banshee(1)!" Banshee? It was a new nickname, I'd look it up later... Or maybe not, I didn't really want to know what it meant.

"We haven't seen her cry yet," it was Fin who answered, his head now turned ahead. "We can also call her Chubster, or Fatty? You know, she's really really fat, unlike mom." I'd been called that before, it was a nickname I'd become used to due to the bullying I suffered at school.

I looked at my thighs in shame, they were easily seen because of the dress I'd decided to wear. I'll stop wearing dresses from now on, this does make me look fat. Mom had already told me.

I wanted to get away from them now, the way to my room seemed endless. They suddenly stopped in front of a white door.

"I really don't know why dad decided to give you a nice room," Grey started talking, "you deserve to sleep on the floor."

"You're dirty and fat, we don't want you to ruin our property. When they're gone you'll be sleeping in the garden!" I didn't know what to say, but I really hoped they wouldn't force me to sleep outside. I already had trouble sleeping...

They left me there, in the middle of the hallway staring at the door of what had become my room. I was hesitant to open it, in case they'd done something to it, but I figured they wouldn't because they had forgotten I was coming here.

I reached for the handle of the door and opened it. A big room, thrice as big as my previous one, came into view. I was in awe, I couldn't believe my new father had prepared such a big room only for myself.

The walls were painted a grayish blue, I actually liked the color. There were three doors, the one I'd come in from, and two more right in front of me. I figured they'd be a walk-in closet and a bathroom. What I didn't expect though, was how luxurious they'd be.

Before going into any of them, I looked around the room. A queen bed full of fluffy pillows and stuffed animals. I'd never owned any of this, I was delighted to know at least I had something to hug now. I won't feel so lonely now.

I entered the first door. The bathroom was pristine white, a huge window was placed at the end of it, with a big bathtub to its right. A white sink to the right and the toilet was hidden behind some opaque crystals.

A/N: Thank you for reading! I'm not that good at descriptions but I hope it's good enough. Anyways, her room is something new to her 'cause it's too luxurious. So, imagine it as big and pretty and luxurious as you'd like!
