Kokoro was bullied at a young age because she and her Mother were poor. Since losing her father they only got 1 income. Her Mother had to work multiple jobs at a time just to get by. They lived in a small apartment in a questionable suburb. Because no one wanted Kokoro to be their friends, Kokoro joined a local gang in her neighbourhood just so she could feel included. Kokoro never liked what they did but what choice did she have? She didn't have anyone else. What is better? Being alone your whole life or breaking the law just to be included? She knew that if her Mother ever found out she would be upset that she would go to such measures just to be with other people. So, she kept it all a secret from her. It wasn't hard anyway since her Mother wasn't home that often. She worked what felt like 24/7. She worked so hard that when she got home at night she would just go straight to bed. It hurt Kokoro so much that her Mother had to work so hard just for them to live.

One day when her Mother came home one night. Kokoro heard a "thud" from the other room. She rushed out of her room to see what the noise was. She comes out to see that her Mother had collapsed! Kokoro calls the emergence number and she was rushed to hospital. A turn out her Mother was hiding a sickness and it was spreading throughout her body. The only way to save her was to put her into a coma to try and slow it down.

Kokoro now had no one. She didn't feel like being in the gang anymore so she told them she was quitting. They didn't like that and told her the only way to leave was to die. She runs away in panic with the gang chasing after her. Kokoro gets stuck in a dead end and is trapped. She doesn't know what to do! What else is there to do? It's not like anyone would care if she died. She doesn't have anyone else in her life that loves her like her Mum does. She will probably never wake up anyway. What's the point in living anymore? The gang beats her up so bad that she is about to die but a police officer breaks up the fight just in time. "No please, let me die here" she says as she passes out.

Next thing she wakes up in the hospital. The officer questions what happened and asked who she was. She told him that she wanted to leave the gang but they told her that she had to die. And that her Mother was in a coma and she is alone. That was why she wanted to die. Since Kokoro was 18 she couldn't go into care with anyone so instead she got paid by the Government and regularly talked to a therapist. Kokoro anyways felt the same no matter how many sessions she had. She still felt like there was no point in her living.

Until one day, Kokoro was visiting her Mother. A sprinkle of hope lightened her life. Her Mother was somehow slowly getting better. She was now awake! Kokoro was so happy to have her back in her life she was crying in tears of happiness. She embraced her Mother as if she would never let go.

From that day on Kokoro swear that she would move on from her past and be a better person like her Mum.

Her Mother was her only life supporter, the kindest and most pure soul to everyone. She didn't have any friends. Her Mother was her only friend and person in the world that loved her. Kokoro took it upon herself to be just like her. She thinks about how she was treated and how her High school life was like. She doesn't want anyone else to go down the same path as she did. Kokoro works at the same hospital as where her Mum stays in intensive care so she goes to see her often.
