Estarossa continued to get more and more pissed that Alicost was evading his moves instead of attacking.
"Fight me dammit!" he growled angrily.
"No. I won't hurt you anymore." Alicost said calmly.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean!" he yelled back.
"That's the problem." Alicost said, her voice beginning to crack. A few tears welled up in her eyes.
"I don't have time for you." Estarossa turned and grabbed Elizabeth. He took off a top speed. Alicost snapped her fingers, knowing exactly where he was going. As Estarossa arrived at the ruin he growled in anger seeing Alicost.
"Fine. If your so desperate for me to kill you I will." He said angrily, only to be met with a flash of blinding light.
"For this spell to work it needs me to remember my best memory of you. You probably don't remember it but I do." Alicost said. The other Archangels had finally arrived, but couldn't seem to make there way through the light. "You were so young. There was an attack by the demons, and I was in charge of protecting the most precious thing, a little baby. You were screaming and crying, and nothing I did calmed you down."
"Sh-shut up!" Estarossa screamed, dropping Elizabeth.
"The only thing that worked was singing a lullaby." Alicost continued.
"Get away from me!" Estarossa yelled. "What are you trying to show me!"
"Glass half empty, glass half full. Well either way you won't be going thirsty." Alicost began to sing. "Count your blessings not your flaws."
Estaross now stood still. A few tears beginning to well up in his eyes. The light died down as Alicost walked towards him.
"Wh-who am I?" he stuttered.
"You're Mael. You're my brother." Alicost said softly. "You've got it all. You've lost your mind in the sound. There's so much more. You can reclaim your crown. You're in control, rid of the monsters inside your head. You can be king again."
Estarossa fell to his knees. His hair began to grow out and the darkness around him faded. Two large wings began to appear at his back. Alicost knelt beside him, her large black wings wrapping around him as she pulled him into a tight embrace. She continued her lullaby.
"There's method to my madness. There's no logic in your sadness. You don't gain a single thing from misery. Take it from me."
"Mael?" Sariel said in surprise.
Mael's eyes slowly flickered open, and he was face to face with his older sister.
"What happened?" he said groggily. "I have all these memories as a demon..."
"Those really happened." the voice of Gowther rang out. "3000 years ago the demon Gowther, Alicost, and I, his doll, worked together to alter a vast amount of minds, including yours. We offset the imbalance caused by Meliodas's betrayal, and changed your mind to make you think you were Estarossa. This forced the goddesses to give up their bodies and use the coffin of eternal darkness."
Mael looked back to Alicost.
"So you did this to me?" he said softly. Alicost looked down to the ground and began to cry.
"I-I'm so sorry. It was the only way to stop the war. I never realized how much I cared for you until you were gone. I know you probably can't forgive me. I wouldn't forgive me either. But- but I'm sorry." Aliscot sputtered out. Her hands rested on Mael's shoulders, almost if she let go she might fall through the ground.
"It's ok." Mael said with a smile. "You're still my big sister. No matter what." Alicost nearly tackled him over with a hug.
"I-I just- I"
"Hey it's ok, but there's someone else you need to save now." Male said, motioning towards Camelot. Alicost nodded. The two stood up to see Ludosheil.
"Mael... I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you." he began.
"There was a war going on Ludosheil. It's ok. I think the real person who deserves an apology. Is your sister." Mael said.
"It's fine." Alicost said harshly, turning around and beginning to walk away. "He doesn't plan on apologizing to me."
"Ali wait!" Mael said.
"No. I'm going to protect someone who really does care about me." Alicsot said, turning back to glare at Ludsheil. "I've done what I came here to do. It's time to go back to being the demon you see me as."
