It's evening already and Wendy has fallen asleep. I decided to watch some thriller films before going to bed. And since I'm going to watch a Korean drama, it's not complete without some popcorn and soda.
I opened the pantry. "Ah" I groaned when I realized that there was none left.
There were other foods like ramen and chips but I'm craving some popcorn and sodas this time. I fixed my hair and went to my bedroom to change clothes. I might as well go to the convenience store, then.
I went out and closed the door, not forgetting to leave a sticky-note for Wendy.
Luckily, the store's not far away from my condo. Just a walking distance.
The door chimed when I went in, there were a few customers inside.
I quickly went to the aisle where popcorns are and got a handful of it. Just as I'm going to the counter, I saw a familiar face sitting outside. I checked out and headed where that person is. I was surprised to see the blind musician sitting down.
"Hello, what are you doing here?" I asked, standing in front of him.
He didn't answer.
"Are you feeling fine?" I tried asking again, hoping to get a reply.
Instead, he just nodded. I bit my lip and sat beside him.
"Where do you live?"
"Condo" he simply answered.
I held his shoulders and helped him stand up.
"Come on, let me help you get to your condo" I offered.
He gladly obeyed and walked beside me. I held his arm for support, seeing that he has no white cane whatsoever, I did what I can even though it's embarrassing.
I looked at him and saw him furrow his eyebrows.
"Sorry" I tried removing my hand but he pulled me even closer, making us have linked arms. He is quite tall, maybe 5'9? I look small when I'm beside him even though I'm tall.
A smile crawled on my face. I can't believe this.
"I met you before. You performed Summer Romance" I said, smiling. My cheeks heated up at the thought that I still remember the title of his original song. The way his voice echoed in my head made me smile even more.
"Why are you smiling?" he asked in a husky voice.
"Huh?" I raised a brow.
"I can feel you smiling, did you like my song?" he chuckled.
"I did" I giggled, my eyes drifted to him.
"Where do you live?" he asked me this time.
"Condo too"
"Really?" he chuckled, again. I saw how sweet his smile is.
"I live in Emerald Trees" That's where I live. The location of it is really amazing! Because I'm near two malls and it's just a walking distance from there. It's also kind of nature-themed with a touch of modernity making it more, relaxing.
"Oh? Me too"
I was surprised. My eyes widened in shock!
"Really?"
"Yeah"
We continued to talk until we reached the Condominium. I was even more surprised when I learned that we live in the same building. Although, my unit is a floor up from his.
I waved goodbye to him. I was about to walk out when he suddenly called me.
"Hey!" I turned around.
"I didn't get your name" he said. Even though he is not looking directly at me, I felt that he is piercing through my eyes.
I licked my lip, "Sooyoung, but I go with Joy"
"Joy... I'm Sungjae. Nice to meet you"
"Nice to meet you too"
He remained silent. I looked at the clock nearby and saw that it was already late at night. I forgot that I was going to watch some dramas.
Maybe I can do it tomorrow, instead.
"Goodnight! I hope to see more of you again!" I shouted.
"Goodnight" he said then closed the door.
Nobody saw it, but I slept with a smile plastered on my face that night.
