Dancing Leaves //SasuNaru

Chapter 1

"Usuratonkachi" the familiar endearing nickname came from the bleeding raven , his lips twitched up into the same cocky smile but the only different thing about this smile was the tears racing down his cheeks as he looked at his bestfriend who lay bleeding next to him as well.

"Why Naruto , why would you come so far for me"he remembered himself saying.

"Because I sort of understand your pain and loneliness and i want to save you from it."

There was a brief moment of silence then Sasuke spoke up again,"usuratonkachi"

"teme"Naruto shot back,his award winning smile stretched across his face as they linked their fingers , both of them drifting into a dreamless sleep.

That was the day Sasuke came home ,

Where they lay with their fingers linked was how the rookie 9 along with Team Gai , Kakashi and Yamato found them.

"Naruto!Sasuke!"the pinkette screamed put as she ran from where she stood,falling to her knees as the medical ninja placed her hands over both of them respectively ,healing them of their injuries;allowing them both to regain consciousness from their sleep.

"Baka Naruto..."Sakura scolded as tears dripped down her face,her emerald green eyes filled with tears as she watched the number one knuckled head ninja smiled at her as if his injuries were no big deal.

"Sakura-chan,"Naruto laughed as he watched her cry,"I'm still alive with Sasuke aren't I?Why are you crying?"he continued obviously clueless to the turmoil of feelings Sakura held within her.

"Hn,"Sasuke rolled his eyes at the clueless blonde,"she's crying because she's glad we're somehow still alive, idiot."

At those words, the whole of team 7 cracked up laughing filling the battlefield that was completely destroyed from the intense battle between the two rivals.Not too far away stood the rest , smiling at the sight before them;a sight they once thought would not ever happen the very moment Sasuke defected from the village nearly 4 years ago.

The next thing the raven knew when he woke was the revolting smell of medicine in the air which made Sasuke wince , he hated the hospitals and he had been there one too many times .Like the battle with Gaara long ago in the Chuunin exams he hated to remember and the fated meeting with his brother which landed him in the hospital;fighting Naruto at the rooftop.

"It doesn't matter now" Sasuke thought as he closed his eyes with a small sigh,bringing his arm up to rest across his forehead , deciding to take a nap before trying to do anything.Take a nap or so he thougjt before he heard loud snoring on his left;gritting his teeth and frowning in obvious annoyance he turned his head ready to yell at blonde ninja.

"Naruto will you stop--"He stopped himself abruptly as onyx eyes landed on Naruto who was sprawled across the sheets , sleeping soundly with the the sunlight filtering through the curtains shining down at his face.Sasuke gaped for a moment, his eyes travelling down to the sleeping boy's features;his once childish features from 3 years ago was replaced with masculine , matured ones.His jawline definitely more defined than before , closed eyes showing how long his lashes were.

For the first time in years Sasuke felt this funny feeling at the bottom of his stomach.

Was it love for the other boy?Was he falling in love with his rival , his bestfriend.

Sasuke pushed those thoughts to the back of his head choosing to ignore the feeling as he turned ; back facing Naruto.

"I finally know what I want to protect now" he thought subconsciously with a little smile before falling asleep to the light snoring he deemed a nuisance just moments ago.

Authors Note: As you can see my chapters aren't very long but I promise the plot from here on will be better and the chapters will be much longer , I'm trying my best to make things interesting , thank you for reading, it means so much to me :)
