It was late in the afternoon and Fushimi was getting very impatient. Following this girl was getting him nowhere.
A few weeks earlier, the Blue, Red and Silver Clans joined forces to defeat the Green Clan and they succeeded.
In the process however, they destroyed the Dresden Slates and now all the Clans were slowly loosing their powers.
Also, there were a lot more Strains on the loose, due to the Green Clan and their crazy plans to grant the power of the Dresden Slates to civilians that had nothing to do with all this.
Which meant a lot more work for Scepter 4, not to mention the missing Strain cases, and a lot more work for Fushimi especially since he sometimes (almost always) completed the work of other staff members because well... it was easier to do it himself than to check and edit their work... especially Domyoji and his silly drawings.
And right now he did not have time for this annoying girl. Fushimi had wasted a whole day tracking and following her. He could have taken her out himself and be done and over with it, but the Captain gave him strict orders not to engage her in battle alone.
Normally, he would disobey the Captain and go in anyway. But this time the Captain had been specific about Fushimi, which was very rare so he figured it must be important.
The girl, Karin Emiko, fifteen years of age, was turned into a Strain a few weeks ago. Her parents had reported her missing saying she was very scared of her new found power and had ran away from home.
The local police had no luck finding her and so the parents came to Scepter 4 to seek help. And that's how Fushimi ended up here, waiting a whole day to surround her but without raising any suspicions.
Karin had the power to confuse people by creating illusions, rendering all five senses completely useless. Much like that Silver Clansmen cat girl. What was her name ... Neko right?
However, she could only use her illusions on five people at once. Which is why the Captain had forbidden Fushimi from entering battle alone.
Be that as it may, he was fairly certain he could take her down on his own.
He spotted three of the Special Unit members and one of the other Scepter 4 trackers, whose name Fushimi did not know, hiding in an alley that Karin was headed for. Where is Fuse? Either he's camouflaged himself really well or he isn't here at all. Probably the latter.
When he was confident everything was in place, he gave the signal and four people pounced on her and held her down. Surprisingly, Fuse was one of them. So he's getting better at hide and seek then. Not that Fushimi would mention that to Fuse himself.
Karin was caught off guard and was too shocked to react, and by the time she recovered from her shock she was already pinned down and handcuffed by the tracker.
Karin struggled against them.
"Let me go! Get off of me!" She yelled. She then tried to use her powers on them but to no avail."That won't work kid." Akiyama said. "Those are special handcuffs that won't let you use your powers."
"Please let me go..." She whispered. " I just wanna go home" Karin was now on the brink of tears.
"Then you shouldn't have run away." Fushimi stated flatly.
"Put her in the back and let's get going already, we've wasted enough time as it is." Fushimi ordered.
"But Mr Fushimi, she's crying" Domyoji said, however the look Fushimi gave him made him wish he'd stayed quiet.
"And what am I supposed to do about that?"
"N-nothing sir."
"Then let's go." And with that Fushimi sat in the van and waited for the others to get in.
"Don't worry miss," Domyoji said. "We'll just ask you a few questions and give you something to keep your powers under control, and then we can drop you home." He smiled at her.
"Really, you promise?"
"Yup!" He gave her a thumbs up.
"Now c'mon, let's get this over quickly so you can see your parents. They're really worried about you." He said.
Karin nodded and they got into the Scepter 4 van.

Once they reached the building Fushimi headed straight for the Captain's office. He entered without knocking which didn't bother Munakata in the least since this was a common occurrence. Fushimi not knocking the door that is.
"We've secured Karin Emiko sir, Akiyama will submit the report in the morning." Fushimi said.
"Or will you submit it tonight Fushimi?" Munakata asked.
"You're making them lazy Fushimi." He mused."What's the point of them doing it if I'll have to correct everything in it Captain."
"You have a point I suppose." Munakata said as he completed the last piece of his puzzle.
There was a pause.
"Captain?"
"Yes, Fushimi?"
Fushimi hesitated before asking. This question had been on his mind for a while now. "What will happen when you lose the Blue King's power?"
Munakata could hear the unasked question. 'What will happen to us when you lose your power?'
