The Shadow Man (Remastered)

Prologue

It was October 3, 2019; Jamie and Ash's parents had been gone for 3 days now. Jamie and Ash would be alone for about another 11 days. Ash had just gotten home from school while Jaime had started their dinner, they were having tacos. By the time they had finished eating and doing math homework, it was pretty late. A little later it started to rain. Jamie put Ash to bed then went to work on editing a video. It was about 11:32 p.m, Jamie finished editing the video. He suddenly heard a loud thud that came from the living room. Jamie grabbed his metal baseball bat, which he had only because he played baseball every now and then, and slowly walked towards the living room. When he arrived, he found the vase he made with Ash a few years ago shattered on the ground. He sighed and cleaned up the glass. He'd try to fix it in the morning. He then checked all the locks and made sure Ash was alright, which she was. He decided to keep watch on the couch because it had a good view of most of the house. It was about 1 in the morning, and he was almost asleep when he heard Ash cry out. Jamie was flooded with fear as he ran to his sisters' room with the bat. Her room was a mess which was odd because Ash was always so neat, even at a young age. Jamie crouched down in front of her, she was crying frantically. "What happened?" Jamie asked his shaking sister. "T-the m-man" she managed to stutter through her tears. "What man?" Jamie said desperately trying to stay calm. Ash quickly pointed towards the corner of her room. Jamie looked over and saw this deformed 'man'. Or was it a monster? Whatever it was didn't matter right now, he knew he had to get Ash out of there. Jamie told Ash to climb out the window. After he was sure Ash was safely on the ground he then followed her. He took her hand and proceeded to run towards the forest that was to the North of the house. All they had was a bat, a phone, and each other. Had he made a grave mistake or was this the best option they had?
